We have always pictured our family with two children and when we learned that Jess’ pregnancy is considered high risk we knew we wanted to grow our family through adoption. We have been lucky to witness first-hand the joy of adoption through a few families and friends who have had positive adoption stories. Our decision to adopt a child was driven by our desire to offer a stable, supportive, fun, and nurturing environment for our entire family.

We believe adoption is the best decision for us, and we look forward to sharing this experience with you.

Our love story in a few words is “small town love”. We have known each other since elementary school, but it wasn’t until after we attended college that our love blossomed (although Jess had a crush on Chris for as long as she can remember!) We happened to be at the same local bar in 2012 and have been together since. A few years into dating we moved in together, welcomed a puppy, and had the wedding of our dreams in 2019. In our first couple years of marriage, we have been blessed with buying our first home, traveling to places on our bucket list, and welcoming our first child, Callan. As a family we love to experience new things and go on adventures together, but we also enjoy dance parties in the kitchen and having cozy movie nights at home.

I am 35 years old and often described as outgoing, funny, energetic and compassionate. I can be someone to laugh with but also a person who can have a heartfelt conversation. I consider myself athletic and played soccer and baseball growing up. Coaching is a passion of mine - I have coached soccer for over a decade. I love cooking meals for my family, trying new recipes and grilling on my smoker. I love food in all forms, and it brings me joy cooking for others.

I work as an operations manager for an HVAC company. I have the ability to work remotely, but when I do have to go into the office my commute is only 15 minutes.

Becoming a father was the greatest feeling in my life. I love watching Callan grow and experience new things for the first time. I am so excited to take this journey in adoption to grow our family and provide a loving home.

Before getting to know Chris, I was initially attracted to his contagious smile, piercing blue eyes, and confidence, but after our first date I couldn’t imagine my life without him. He quickly became my best friend, and I couldn’t ask to have a better teammate by my side.

Chris prides himself on working hard, doing what is right, and making people laugh with his “Dad jokes”. As corny as they are, his jokes are often some of the best parts of my day.

Chris is also the most giving, kind-hearted, smart, and caring person I know. These are just a few of the characteristics that make him a fantastic father.

When he became a dad in 2022, my love for him grew exponentially. Chris is patient, energetic, and a great role model.

I am 32 years old and officially in my “Mom Era” (for all my fellow swifties). I was raised with the value that family is the most important and everything I do has my family at the forefront of my mind. Becoming a mom in 2022 has given me more joy than I can put into words.

I also find joy in traveling, being at our family lake house, spending time with friends and family, and cuddling with our pug. I love to organize, plan events, and help others. I find fulfillment in my career as a supervisor in the finance department at a children’s hospital. My position allows me to work remotely full time and have a great work life balance where I get to spend a lot of time with my family.

Working hard and being active in our community is important to me and I try each day to set a good example and inspire others to do their best. I believe in celebrating the little things just as much as the big things and hope to spread positivity.

Watching her raise our son Callan has been a blessing. She loves taking Callan and Alfredo for walks, trips to the zoo and playing hide and seek around the house. My wife Jess is one of the most dependable, compassionate, thoughtful and caring people I have ever met.

Jess is the most organized person I know and has a love for making binders to keep us on track. She even impressed our wedding planner with her wedding binder and level of detail. She plans our meals each week and updates our monthly calendars so no one misses an appointment.

Jess is kind, affectionate, caring, and has a goofy sense of humor. She loves making up new games and creating traditions to bring the family together. I appreciate how her family first mentality creates long lasting memories that we all enjoy.

Most of our favorite pastimes take place outdoors. Hanging out by the lake is our idea of a perfect day - paddleboarding, kayaking, picnics, and lots of sunshine.

As a family we enjoy weekend getaways around New England and love that we get to experience the change of seasons. We go on ski trips, go apple picking, beach vacations, enjoy pool days and enjoy being at our community playgrounds.

We’re also a bunch of foodies! We love cooking together and we’re always trying out new recipes and whipping up delicious meals as a family. We believe it’s important to include children while cooking as it helps teach the value of eating healthily and taking care of your body. We also like to try new restaurants and breweries (especially when they have outdoor seating!)

Like most families, we have a competitive side too! Family game nights, pizza making contests and family golf tournaments are always a lot of fun. The value of teamwork and trying your best all while having fun is a core belief in our home.

We enjoy traveling and take a “Bucket List Trip” every few years in addition to our yearly skiing and beach family vacations. We have been to many countries including, Greece on our honeymoon, Italy, Australia, and Canada. Jess’ sister currently lives in Canada while completing a PhD program at the University of Toronto, and we enjoy visiting her city!

In the United States we traveled to all the New England states, California, Florida, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, and more! We hope to visit as much of the country as possible!

A few years ago, we purchased our first home in a small rural town nestled between Boston and Cape Cod.

Our town is the perfect blend of suburb life where we can get into Boston or to a beach within 30 minutes, all while having farms as neighbors. (On our street there are horses, chickens, and cows!) We enjoy taking walks at the local high school and university and look forward to the days when we can get our kids involved in community sports and activities. Our community has invested in walking trails and playgrounds that we visit often to get some exercise and enjoy nature.

Our home away from home is our family lake house. A few years ago, our family built a home that quickly became one of our favorite places to gather. The lake has a special place in our hearts because the house is always filled with family and friends. We spend a lot of our weekends and vacations at the lake and feel blessed to have a family home to create such wonderful memories.

Callan was born in January of 2022. He is energetic, smart, curious, sweet and loved by everyone who meets him. Callan loves his dog Alfredo who he has named “Dodo”, being outdoors, big trucks, animals, and cuddling his stuffed animals. Callan enjoys learning, having dance parties and going to gymnastics class. He is ecstatic to become a big brother!

Jess has wanted a pug since she was little and in 2017 Chris surprised her with a pug puppy named Alfredo.

Alfredo was described as the cuddly one at birth and that has held true. Alfredo loves cuddling in a blanket, going for walks, and adventures at the lake.

Since Callan was born the two have been inseparable. Alfredo follows Callan as he eats his snacks and is very gentle and patient with him as he grows. Alfredo has welcomed Callan and will welcome a new baby with open paws.

We are lucky to be surrounded by such loving friends and family that make up “our village”.

Both of our parents live within 30 minutes of us and visit often. Since we both grew up in the same town, our families know each other well and enjoy spending time together. We each have a younger sister that we were close to growing up and are both still involved in our lives. Our families gather often for pizza and game nights, holidays, walks, and family golf tournaments. We also take a few annual trips in the winter and summer to various ski mountains and to the beaches in New Jersey as a family. It has been a blessing for us to have such a large family that is very supportive, fun, and welcoming!

We are also lucky to have great friends that often feel like family.

Most of our friends also live within 30 minutes of us and we enjoy going to parks, zoos, and weekend getaways with them. Fortunately, the people we are the closest to are going through similar parenting situations and have children all similar ages. We are big believers in spending time with those that make you happy and we make our family and friends a priority in our lives. Our family and friends are delighted that we are growing our family.

Family Lake House: Jess’ parents purchased land on a lake in Massachusetts that holds a lot of sentimental value to our family. A few years ago, the lake house was built and is a place where our family and friends unwind, spend time together, and enjoy the outdoors.

The lake is very peaceful, and we enjoy taking nature walks, paddleboarding, kayaking, going for boat rides, tubing, and just lounging on the dock. We spend many weekends and vacations at the lake house and love that we have this family home to create long lasting memories.
