However, life doesn't always go as planned. After being together for eight years, we faced unexpected challenges when Dez had a health scare that made it impossible for her to bear children. Despite the obstacles, our relationship has grown stronger, and we are committed to building a family through adoption.

We first met in high school through our mutual love for music and shared friends. Rob thought she was fun, passionate, driven, and someone who would not be bound to limitations. Over time, our bond grew deeper, and we eventually fell in love. After being together for five wonderful years, we decided to get married.

Hello! My name is Desiree (Dez), and I'm from California. I was raised in a city located 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles. My parents are originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and they instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and family, which have greatly influenced and shaped my personality and characteristics.

My three sisters have made me a proud aunt to eleven nieces and nephews. We are a close-knit family, and my sisters have given me many opportunities to build special bonds with each of them. One of my proudest titles is being an aunt. My Mexican heritage is essential to my identity, and I take pride wherever I go. Some of my favorite Mexican customs include making tamales during the winter holidays, listening to old tunes from various Latin backgrounds, such as Cumbia, and strongly committing to family.

I am known for my sense of humor and silliness. I value embracing my inner child through painting and finding humor in everyday situations. I believe it is important to balance work and play and that humor is a powerful tool to connect with people and nurture joy and happiness.

I aspire to provide a loving and supportive home for your child where they can learn, grow, and flourish. I am dedicated to creating a safe and stable environment that enables your child to reach their full potential.

I am a first-generation college student with two bachelor's degrees in Child Development and Family Studies and Family Life Education. I also have a master's degree in Educational Counseling and a doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Before becoming a faculty member and an academic counselor in higher education, I worked in early childhood education and the K-12 system. In early education, I was a lead caregiver for a home daycare, a preschool teacher at an elementary school, and a preschool teacher at a private school. I have experience caring for and teaching children of all ages, from newborns to grade school. In the K-12 system, I worked as a parent educator and substitute teacher.

Overall, I am passionate about using my knowledge to support the growth of others and build more equitable systems in education. I am committed to positively impacting students' lives and helping them succeed in their educational journey. This is not just a job for me; it is a calling that aligns with my community and family values.

Dez has an exceptional level of emotional intelligence. She deeply cares about others and consistently prioritizes the needs of children and young adults. Hi, I am Robert, but my friends & loved ones call me Rob! I was born and raised just outside of Los Angeles, California, and was lucky enough to be raised in a home filled with love, music, & adventures. My mother is a very caring and loving person and was able to stay home with us throughout my childhood. And although my father was usually fairly quiet, he shared his love for music, movies, and family outings with us. For me, his love of the arts and travel grew into an admiration for all people, their stories, and their struggles. This, in turn, helped shape my deep appreciation for the arts, travel, and exploration.

Reflecting on the influences that have shaped me, I recognize the profound impact of my parents and my wife, emphasizing the core values of love, family, and happiness. With an open mind and a social conscience, I actively engage with diverse cultures through extensive travel, acknowledging the richness of human experiences.

During my school years, I discovered my passions for mathematics and the arts, immersing myself in various extracurricular activities, such as academic decathlon, drama, band, and choir. I love learning and have taught myself to play guitar, piano and code software.

I have worked in the power-generating industry for the last 22 years. As a seasoned professional, I now lead a team of Process Control Technicians and do my part to help keep the lights on in LA. The field of Process Control lends itself to some of my strongest problem-solving abilities and creating efficient systems.

My top priority is my relationship with my wife, and our financial stability enables us to savor life's experiences together.

My readiness for adoption stems from an abundance of love and resources, coupled with a sincere desire to provide a nurturing environment for a child. Hands-on experiences, such as caring for my sister's children and a brief period as a resource parent, underscore my genuine commitment to embracing the joys and responsibilities of expanding my family through adoption.

Rob is a kind, smart, and caring person who always prioritizes the needs of others. This may be challenging for some, but it gives Robert a sense of purpose and meaning in life. In our relationship, he has always put me first, and when we fostered a baby, I saw how he did the same for her. I am confident that he will make a great father because he is loving, caring, and selfless. Parenting requires a lot of time and attention, but I know that Robert can handle it.

Rob is passionate about technology and enjoys doing "techy" things such as programming and coding. He finds joy in troubleshooting and solving problems. Although his job allows him to use these skills, he also engages in hobbies that allow him to practice them further.

Traveling is something we enjoy very much. We have been fortunate to visit many places, including Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Hawaii, Mexico, and Japan. However, our most memorable trip was to Vietnam, where we were fascinated by the wonderful food and rich culture.

Through our travels, we have discovered that we prefer adventurous travels that involve sightseeing and learning about other cultures rather than just relaxing on a beach. The best part of traveling is meeting new people, learning new languages, trying new foods, and broadening our perspectives. It humbles us and helps us to appreciate the world around us.

Although we rarely travel abroad, we also enjoy exploring various locations within the United States. We also enjoy engaging in local adventures such as hiking in Los Angeles, visiting tourist attractions, and exploring beach cities like Ventura in California. We also delight in discovering historical sites like Chicano Park in San Diego.

Just outside the busy city, our cozy town provides a warm and friendly atmosphere for families. It's a great place to live with a mix of urban convenience and a small-town feel. Our community is close-knit, with many proud homeowners contributing to the welcoming environment.

In our town, you'll find various dining spots, coffee shops, and parks that create a perfect balance for residents. Despite being near the city, we maintain a charming small-town vibe rich in history. Living here means not just having a home but being part of a lively community that encourages connection and growth. Our town is more than just a place to live; it is a dynamic hub that invites the community to be active, learn, and thrive in a vibrant and diverse setting.

When we are at home, we love to spend time in our backyard, which looks like a forest. We enjoy watching TV, playing music, and spending time with our furry pet - Ari. We also love to host family gatherings where we make fun-filled memories together. Our gatherings include activities such as tamale making, painting parties, or simple family dinners where we gather together to share each other's company.

We feel extremely grateful to have grown up in families full of love, and we wish to provide the same for our child. Desiree shares a close bond with her sisters, and we absolutely love being an aunt and uncle. We decided to live close to our parents so that we were all within a five-mile radius. This makes it easier for us to celebrate and create memories with our families. Being close to them makes us feel happier and more supported, strengthening our bond. Celebrating together and feeling loved makes living near our families so special.

Our family has a lot of special traditions that we enjoy together on holidays and other important occasions. For example, we always have a big family dinner on Thanksgiving and decorate our Christmas tree together. One of our favorite traditions is making tamales before Christmas, which is not just about the food but also about spending time together and creating memories.

We also celebrate other important events, like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and graduations. We like to recognize not just the big milestones but also the little things that make life special, like a nephew's first time driving on the freeway or a niece’s first dance recital.

Our traditions include recreational activities like camping trips, fishing outings, movie nights, and game nights. These shared experiences strengthen our family bonds and give us happy memories to look back on with joy.
