For years, we've yearned to start a family, facing the challenges of infertility and enduring multiple miscarriages, including a heartbreaking second trimester loss. Family holds immense significance for us, and we've long cherished the dream of parenthood and building a family of our own. Surrounded by a large extended family and a tight-knit circle of friends, we've been blessed with unwavering support throughout our journey. We're thrilled to now begin our adoption journey, filled with hope and excitement for the future.

We were introduced by our closest friends, who were dating each other at the time. Katie and her friends had rented a house in the Poconos, Pennsylvania, and even though Katie was the only single one in the group, she insisted she didn't need a guy to have a great weekend. Despite her friends' efforts to set her up, we hit it off immediately, talking nonstop throughout the weekend.

Clayton, who was living in Virginia at the time, started visiting Katie in New York every weekend after that. Within 10 months, we were engaged and had bought a house in Virginia. Two months later, we were married, and now we’re celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary!

We’ve since moved to California, where our weekends are filled with walks with our two pups, exploring new places, and enjoying each other’s company over meals at new restaurants.

We have a deep love for exploring new restaurants and activities wherever we go. Traveling is a passion we both share, and we're excited to continue our adventures with a little one in the future.

Katie is an avid reader who devoured 54 books last year! She's eagerly looking forward to building a collection of children's books and introducing our child to the wonders of the library. Our daily walks with our two pups, Ember and Ash, are a cherished part of our routine. They're expert cuddlers when it's time to unwind, yet full of energy at the dog park.

During the pandemic, we opened our home to 16 foster dogs, ranging from young puppies to adults. Ash, our 13th foster, stole our hearts, and we happily adopted him. Our shared love for animals is something we're eager to pass on to our child, ensuring they grow up with a strong appreciation for all creatures.

Hi! I'm Katie. I grew up on Long Island, New York, with my parents, two siblings, and a few pups. My dad, a retired firefighter, and my mom, a retired teacher, provided a warm nurturing environment. As the oldest of 3 siblings and one of 19 grandchildren on my dad's side, I hail from a large Irish/Italian family. Family gatherings were frequent, with everyone coming together at least once a month. My childhood was filled with joy and opportunities. They encouraged us to explore extracurricular activities from the age of 3, fostering our interests and allowing us to try new things. Family vacations to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, became a cherished tradition, leading my parents to eventually purchase a home there. Meeting Clayton introduced me to a lifestyle of regular moves, something I've come to embrace as a new adventure each time.

I currently work as an Administrative Assistant at a large Dialysis clinic. However, I plan to transition to being a stay-at-home mom. I’m excited about the prospect of going on adventures with our future little one.

Despite the changes, my desire remains the same: to provide my child with the same loving and supportive upbringing I was fortunate to have.

Katie is not just an amazing wife; she's my soulmate and my closest friend. Her personality is incredibly supportive, compassionate, and composed. What I love most about Katie is her deep affection for all animals and children, and her unwavering dedication to spending quality time with loved ones. She has a natural ability to connect with children, creating a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn and grow.

You'll often find her cozied up on the couch with our dogs (Ember and Ash), lost in her favorite books. Katie is the heart and soul of our home, the one who keeps our family dynamics in balance and ensures everything runs smoothly. Her structured approach to life, combined with her adventurous spirit, makes her a wonderful partner in exploring the world and experiencing different cultures and cuisines. She is truly one-of-a-kind, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her by my side.

Hi! I'm Clayton. I grew up in a small farming community in rural Iowa, raised on an acreage by my dad, a farmer, and my mom, a pharmacist tech, along with my two older half brothers. Living amidst this agricultural backdrop, I quickly learned the value of hard work, tending to animals and crops from a young age. Throughout my childhood, I actively participated in my county’s 4-H and FFA clubs, where I showed cattle, rabbits, goats, and engaged in various woodworking projects. In high school, I balanced my time between playing soccer and competing in Science Technology Engineering and Math competitions, honing skills in robotics and computer programming. During my junior year, I made the decision to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, embarking on this new chapter just two weeks after graduating from high school.

My time as a Marine taught me the intricacies of helicopter maintenance and qualified me as an aircrew member. These experiences ignited my passion for aviation, a passion I eagerly anticipate passing on to my children.

Clayton is a loving spouse and devoted dog dad. He’s kind, adventurous, and works as a helicopter mechanic, with a talent for fixing things. He enjoys woodworking, flying his drone, and has managed all our home improvements. Clayton looks forward to building a crib for our child and having them join him in the garage working on projects. His close relationship with his late father inspires him to create similar memories with our future children.

Clayton has seven more years to go in the Marines and loves his job. He’s currently pursuing a degree in Unmanned System Applications, showing incredible dedication to his schoolwork and career. I’m proud of his hard work aiming for a 4.0 GPA. When he retires at 38, he’ll have a pension and excellent benefits. Thanks to Clayton’s G.I. Bill, our child’s college or trade school education will be fully covered when they decide to pursue it.

We purchased our first home in Virginia, envisioning a future filled with children. This 4-bedroom house with a 3-car garage sits on a spacious property, perfect for a swing set and trampoline, in a tranquil, secluded neighborhood. Although we currently rent it out, we dream of returning to the East Coast to experience all four seasons and be closer to Katie's family.

Currently, we reside in a charming 3-bedroom home in California, nestled in a military community bustling with children. Our neighborhood boasts several parks, a dog park, a pool, and multiple schools, creating a vibrant and supportive environment. Living here has been invaluable; our neighbors have become like family. Our cul-de-sac is alive with kids of all ages daily, and we eagerly anticipate the day we can add our own little one to join in the fun. We frequently host BBQs and dinners, and the spirit of community, where everyone helps one another, is truly special to us.

Ember, a fox red labrador retriever, will be 5 years old in June and attends doggy daycare weekly. Ash, a 4-year-old pitt/coonhound mix, enjoys daily walks. Both pups are great with adults and children, love being outside, and frequent the dog park. We also take them out to eat, where they behave very well. Our family has several dogs: Katie's parents have both a black labrador and a fox red labrador retriever, and Katie’s sister and brother in law have a chocolate lab and a pitt/mix. All the dogs get along well.

Katie's sister lives about 2 hours away from our Virginia house, and her parents have a vacation home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Katie's parents, brother, and extended family are in New York. Despite the distances, we prioritize family time, seeing everyone multiple times a year. Last year, we visited everyone about once a month, we're no strangers to travel!

Clayton's brother and extended family are in Iowa, and we make it a point to visit them once a year. We enjoy turning the trip into a road adventure, bringing our pups along and creating lasting memories along the way.

Our parents and siblings are eager to become grandparents, aunts, and uncles. They can't wait to spoil our children, take them on vacations, and welcome another member into our already large and loving family.

Holidays hold significant importance in our family. We spend Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and Katie's late Grandfather's Celebration of Life with Katie's family. Picture 40 people gathered in one place, sharing meals and making memories. It's a joyful chaos filled with love and laughter.
