Hello from Pomona, California! We are Danny & Chris. Thank you so much for considering us! After many years of preparation we are absolutely thrilled to be at a stage in life where we can support and love a child unconditionally. Having pursued our lifelong passions all while building a solid foundation and learning so much along the way; we are ready to add to our unique family and pass along some of what we’ve learned. While we’ve evolved into natural homebodies, we often visit friends and family and are extremely engaged in the broader Los Angeles community. Thank you for getting to know us.
Dear Birth Mother...
Thoughts on Adoption
We've always known we wanted our family to be more than just us. Both being immigrants and gay people of color we believe we can offer a uniquely safe space. Chris was adopted himself and all his siblings are adopted — and understands firsthand the close bond adopted families form.
Chris on Adoption
Being adopted myself into a transracial family who come from different cultures and countries has created a family unit who deeply values the importance of cultural connection as well as strong bonds between us. Because we are all different there is no feeling of exclusion, and that feeling would certainly be extended to the child we bring into the family as well.
Getting to Know Us
We met in West Hollywood 13 years ago and immediately began dating when we were both in college, and became exclusive within a month. We fell for each other fast over our shared love of family, music, comedy, community, and adventure. We love dressing up for holidays like Halloween (most years we have matching outfits), going to beaches and parks in the summer, and attending professional sporting events like Dodger games.
Family time is so important to us, especially during the winter holiday season.
We both love the beach and eating outside basically anywhere in nature. While we have plenty of camping gear – it’s been quite a few years since we’ve put them to use. We’re sure we’ll have many opportunities to break them out with our soon-to-be larger family.
Danny likes to make things with his hands, whether its gardening in the backyard or sewing a new garment – he’s constantly puttering around to create something fun and new.
Chris almost always has a sporting event on television or is reading or watching the news. He often shares his knowledge with friends and family at dinners and vacations together.
About Chris, by Chris
Hi there! I'm Chris. I am a people person, and have maintained close friendships since my childhood. I value my friendships with others and my friends are a very important part of my life. Having worked for over a decade in politics and policy, I work from home where I advocate for more affordable housing for low income and homeless families. I have a great work-life balance and have plenty of time at home before and after work due to no commute.
Having lived in other places like the D.C. area for 4 years and then West Hollywood for 10 more, many of those relationships formed still stand. This stick-to-it-ive-ness is one of the many reasons I believe I will be a great Dad.
I’m very involved in community activism. Constantly joining new groups and social gatherings, I am often making new connections while maintaining old ones. This keeps our social life vibrant and our support circle broad and strong.
As a family oriented man, I regularly visit my parents and siblings in Vermont, as well as my sister and her husband and their two boys in Philadelphia.

More About Chris, by Danny
Chris is easy-going with kids and tends to be the fun type. He loves to grill and walk historic sites. Chris is very close to his sisters’ 2 young boys James and Lincoln, age 4 and 6. He is also very good with my sister’s many children spending time and communicating with them via text. I love how organized Chris is, he plans every vacation!
About Danny, by Danny
Hello! I'm Danny. My mind is endlessly creative. Constantly designing clothing and fashion accessories – I use the right side of my brain to cultivate garments, spaces, and even my own tattoos! While I’m working here and there part-time, I expect to be at home full-time and be a stay-at-home parent to our future child.
Considered the consummate creative, I love working on functional clothes or bags – it’s one of my passions. More recently, I have become very interested in gardening and plant life.
A natural homebody, I prefer most days at home and love tinkering in the kitchen — often whipping up my native Panamanian and other Latin dishes.
While fun-loving and gregarious out and about, I enjoy spending time playing video games and keeping up to date on social media.

More About Danny, by Chris
Danny loves being the silly and fun one with kids and adults alike. His lighthearted and youthful nature engages and welcomes children to be themselves.
Danny is naturally youthfully joyful - he’s excited to be a full-time parent where he will commit every day to making our future children’s lives enjoyable and worth while. The best thing about Danny is his willingness to learn on the fly and is open to new experiences like camping and traveling more broadly.
Our Home and Community in Pomona, California
We live in Los Angeles County, just outside the big city. In the summer we are outside in our backyard almost every day. For 10 years we were renters in a small 700 sq foot studio apartment, so we take advantage of our new home which has a backyard and front yard space.
While Danny is in the backyard gardening, Chris is often found grilling and listening to the latest Pop/Latin/Dance music.
In the winter months we buy plenty of firewood for almost nightly fires and love attending the Christmas parade in town.
Our favorite holiday is Halloween and love dressing up in matching outfits. We hope our child will love dressing up too!
Meet Our Family
Chris is one of 5 adopted siblings and Danny is one of 3 siblings. Both of Chris’s parents are still alive and live in Vermont - while Danny’s older and twin sister both live in the Las Vegas area. Chris’s parents are lifelong Vermonters while his siblings are all born elsewhere and are African-American/Latina.
Danny and his family come from Panama, and we visited them on our honeymoon. They are all so welcoming and loving. Chris’s parents are particularly keen to welcome a new grandchild into our family, they already have 2 grandsons.
Family is always the most important value we hold. We hope to teach our future child family values. The biggest family value we hope to pass down is that of spending time with one another. Many believe family comes down to blood relation, but of course we don’t think that way. We know family is about love and spending time together.
Our Furry Friend
We love having pets and our Pekingese Cleo has a very strong and loving personality. We’ve had Cleo for over 12 years and she’s so loyal and calm. We expect her to be so excited to welcome more members to our family!
Thoughts on Parenting
We feel strongly about open adoption and want as much connection with you as you are willing to have. We are passionate about pursing your true love in life, which is uniquely American in nature. We hope to pass on that optimism to our future child, that you can be whatever you want to be as long as you love what you do and you work hard every day and are honest.
In Closing
While we understand we are far from a typical couple, we know we’ll make for amazing parents that will allow your child to explore their deepest sense of self.
Once they are old enough, we’ll support their desire to pursue their dreams – whatever it is they choose. Our unique backgrounds as gay immigrants and people of color (and Chris being adopted) will allow open dialogue with our future child about different type of people and families.
