Hello! We are Andres and Steve from Southern California. We are so excited about the opportunity to be fathers. We admire your courageous decision to consider finding a loving home for your child through open adoption. We trust that once you get to know us, you will feel we are worthy of being your child’s adoptive parents. We vow to love your child with all our heart.

We first met over lunch on a 4th of July. What was meant to be a quick lunch date turned into an entire evening of getting to know each other and watching fireworks. We have been inseparable ever since. We continue to have fun in life, spending time with our friends, family, traveling and cooking. From the early days of our courtship, we knew we wanted to raise children together. We know there is no greater gift than being a parent.

We look forward to sharing our lives with our future child. We know in our hearts that we were meant to be parents and will do everything we can to provide your child with the best life imaginable. We will instill the values we hold dear. These values include our strong faith, our commitment to our family, an appreciation for hard work, the value of friendships, honesty, courage, and responsibility. Most importantly, we will show your child what LOVE is. There will be no doubt in their mind as to how much love we have for them and how important they are to us and the world.

Andres oversees our real estate business, and until recently, Steve dedicated much of his adult life to law enforcement. We now own and operate a neighborhood hardware store, continuing our commitment to serving the community. Owning a business and managing real estate grants us the flexibility we will need to spend quality time with our future child.

Andres is my best friend. He is the person who makes me strive to be a better man each day. Andres is one of the most caring, honest, and funniest people I have ever met and I am beyond grateful that I got to marry him. Andres was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, and as a good Latin man, one of his greatest joys is being in the kitchen. He loves to create amazing meals for our family and friends. I can’t wait for the days we get to cook together as a family.

Andres is incredibly funny too! He is the guy that will make your belly hurt with his sense of humor. He is a hard worker, incredibly responsible, trust worthy and intelligent. I always imagine how his best qualities will be instilled in our future child.

When I met Steve, I was immediately drawn to his incredibly generous and transparent heart. I admired his commitment to his career, his endless desire to be of service to others and his ever so optimistic outlook on life. Early in our relationship, I witnessed Steve’s willingness to help his family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who needed a helping hand, a word of encouragement or simply, someone to talk to over a cup of coffee. Steve’s answer has been and will always be, “yes!”, when anyone needs him. I knew back then, that I had met a very special man and that I wanted him to be a part of my life.

Through our years together, I have watched how Steve interacts with children in both our families and with our friends’ children. It always melts my heart to see his natural disposition to play and communicate so easily with them. Kids are always drawn to his happy and playful personality. I know Steve will make an incredible father.

We have the pleasure of living in Southern California. We are close to the ocean and get to enjoy a moderate climate year-round. We also have a large backyard space where we absolutely love to spend time entertaining our friends and family for birthday and anniversary celebrations. We are close to Disneyland, the mountains, the ocean, Palm Springs and wine country. These are just a few of the many beautiful places we love to visit for short weekend getaways.

We have a love of travel and experiencing new things. We look forward to traveling the country and visiting the different landmarks while teaching our future child the history of our great nation. We also look forward to traveling the world and visiting family abroad. When we aren’t traveling, we can be found working out, cooking new foods and baking yummy desserts. We love to cycle by the beach and take in the beautiful sunsets.

We have a thirteen-year-old poodle mix named Minnie. She is our pride and joy. She is the sweetest dog we have ever known and is great with young kids.

Family is everything to us. We have a large family and even larger extended family when we consider our close friends. Andres’s parents live with us and provide us with a great deal of love and support. We have some of the longest friendships and our friends are like family. Andres has a brother and sister and Steve has four brothers and many nephews and nieces. We love to host family gatherings at our house. Andres makes a fabulous paella – it’s always a hit.

We’d like to introduce Andres’s parents, Gustavo and Jannet, as they are an integral part of our family. They are incredibly excited about our adoption journey and eagerly look forward to welcoming the new addition to our family. Gustavo and Jannet are ready to provide all the needed support, offering their boundless love, care, and wisdom as we embark on this beautiful new chapter.

We dream of building a family around our shared principles of respect, honesty, responsibility, truthfulness, and overall, love. We will encourage our future child to dream big. We will provide an environment that allows them to thrive, to express their feelings openly, to be happy, and to reach for the stars.

Like most families, we love our traditions. We celebrate Christmas twice. First, Colombian Christmas Eve with Andres’s family, and again on Christmas Day with Steve’s family. Delicious food is exchanged and presents for the kids are always abundant.

Our friends and their families are very important to us, we see them as our chosen family and we are always part of their traditions as well. Kid’s birthdays, graduations and other important dates fill our calendar, and we never miss those special moments.

As parents, we will encourage your child to learn, to play, and to ask questions. We will to introduce them to new cities, countries and cultures. We often talk about our plans to spend our summers traveling as a family and exploring the world together.

We know this is one of the most important decisions you will ever make and we admire the strength and love with which you search for the right family for your child.

We promise to provide your child with endless love, a good life full of opportunities, and most importantly, the understanding that you have done everything in your power to ensure that their life is fulfilling and happy.

We want to express our willingness to have an open communication channel between our families. We will be happy to stay in touch, if that is something you desire. Our main goal will always be the wellbeing of your child and to always be truthful and transparent.
