We are Julie & Lindsay. We’re from Rhode Island, along with our kids Tenley & Brecken! We want you to know how much we admire your courage and selflessness in considering adoption. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little about us. As you explore your options, we hope you find the perfect match for you and your child. Our promise is to create a loving home where your child will always feel heard, valued, and supported in whatever way they need. They’ll grow up knowing their worth and feel surrounded by the love of our family, our community, and you. We’re excited about the opportunity to offer your child a lifetime of love, patience, and a wonderful sense of belonging.
Dear Birth Mother
Why We're Adopting
We’ve always known that adoption would be a special way to grow our family. For us, adoption is the best and most beautiful, exciting path to become parents together as a couple. We share our love with two children from Julie’s previous marriage through joint custody. We’ve faced fertility challenges over the last several years trying to expand our family, and this is our chance to raise an infant from birth together. What you’re considering would be an amazing gift, and we are grateful for your bravery and selflessness in this decision that impacts all of our futures. We look forward to getting to know you and building a connection with you. We're committed to doing everything we can to earn your trust and confidence in the love and life we'll provide for your child.
About Us - Our Story
Our relationship thrives on deep respect and understanding, celebrating both our togetherness and individuality. In 2016, we connected as volunteers on our company’s Health & Wellness team. We started walking together on lunch breaks, getting to know each other better. A shared love of brunch and craft beer led to our first few dates at a favorite restaurant in Providence and at Tilted Barn Brewery nestled on a Christmas tree farm in snowy December! We still celebrate our “brunchiversary” every year. In February 2020, just before the world shut down, we got engaged in our new home and began planning our wedding. Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, we were married in June 2021 surrounded by close family and friends. We enjoy our life together, sharing laughter and love with our kids, and are so excited to grow our family.
Hi, I'm Lindsay
I grew up in Massachusetts with my parents and my older brother. My family still lives in my childhood home, which I visit often. I moved to Rhode Island for school in 2007 and instantly fell in love with the Ocean State. I studied Environmental Science, have a deep passion for it, and often volunteer for environmental causes. My career took me in a different direction, and I currently work remotely as a Project Manager for a software company. My work will allow me to have great flexibility when we have a newborn in the house! I’m lucky to have a supportive circle of friends who would describe me as honest, straightforward, and a bit of a goofball. I’m always cracking jokes or laughing at someone else’s antics. I’m part of a weekly run club that wraps up at a local brewery, where we relax by the fire and share stories over a beer. Above all, I believe in the power of authenticity — embracing both the good and the bad — because that's where the true beauty lies.
More About Lindsay, Written by Julie
Lindsay is an amazing partner. She's driven, smart, and incredibly motivated. She's thoughtful, kind, supportive, curious, and enthusiastic. She’s easy to talk to and get along with. She’s an excellent decision maker, and displays a natural confidence about her. She takes great care of herself and always makes time for our family and friends, from walks with the kids and our dog to being there for us or anyone who needs her to planning time with family and friends. She’s a fantastic bonus mom to Tenley & Brecken, and it’s special to watch our family dynamic evolve together with her. She enjoys several hobbies, and volunteers or gets involved in our community as often as she can! This year she was honored with the Volunteer of the Year award from the Audubon Society for her work. I’m lucky to have her “momming” by my side as I say, and I know she’ll be incredible with a new child. It’s going to be fantastic to see this wish come true together. It’s something I know she’s hoped for so deeply and truly deserves.
Hey there! I'm Julie
I was born in New Haven, Connecticut and grew up near there with my parents and my younger sister, Karen (my best friend). My parents both came from large families, so I was lucky to be close to four grandparents, a great grandmother, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. As a child, I enjoyed family holidays, activities like swimming at the pool or the beach, camping, playing sports, making art, theater, and music. Growing up I tried most sports—but found swimming, lacrosse, and ice hockey to be my favorites and best. When I started college in Newport, RI, I knew I would make Rhode Island my forever home. My studies and skills led me to a career in marketing, communications, and design, and I have worked both full-time in marketing leadership roles and as a freelance creative professional. Work/life balance is extremely important to me. I’m currently working to build my own business, which will allow me to spend more time at home as a stay-at-home parent in the near future. I’m a people person, and love to make new connections and learn about them! I've been told I'm pretty funny, and I enjoy making our kids, family and friends laugh whenever I can. I am loyal, trustworthy and caring, and I'd do anything for my family.
More About Julie, Written by Lindsay
Julie is my best friend, and she never hesitates to step up when things get tough. She cares deeply for the people in her life and would do anything for them. With her positive outlook and upbeat attitude, she always strives to see the bright side of any situation. Julie is friendly, easygoing, and always ready to lend a hand when someone needs it. She is such an amazing mother and I can’t wait to raise an infant with her! As a mom to her daughter Tenley and son Brecken, she brings that same warmth and energy to her family. She’s always prepared for whatever comes her way and is constantly thinking about the needs of others. Based on these traits, I know Julie is going to be a truly nurturing and wonderful parent to a little one.
Hobbies & Interests
We both love catching life music, whether it's discovering a show on the fly or planning a trip around one. We love to travel, explore new places, and try new restaurants (we're foodies)!
Our Favorite Trips (so far!) - Each moment and memory we make reminds us what truly matters.
- Seeing one of our favorite bands The Head and the Heart play outside at Red Rocks in Colorado.
- Cruising the Caribbean with the kids and Lindsay's family.
- Honeymooning in Mexico!
- Spending a long weekend in Montreal.
- Visiting California, Florida, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire & New York.
- Chilling at our parents' beach house in Connecticut or lake house in New York's Adirondacks.
- Exploring the Big E Fair in Massachusetts every year with Lindsay's family.
- Camping every summer (in tents!) with our family and great friends!
A Few Favorites
Lindsay enjoys regular Peloton workouts, reading, listening to podcasts, playing brain games, volunteering, coaching Girls on the Run, and gardening (she has a green thumb!). She has a knack for turning everything into a song with musical storytelling—it’s like she’s living in her own musical (Julie loves musicals, so that works lol)!
Julie is creative and artistic, enjoys cooking (pizza is a family fave!), discovering new music, games and puzzles, and attending sports or school events for our kids or as the PTA President. Julie’s very handy and a master at building furniture or piecing things together that Lindsay’s bought for the house. What a great team (wink)!

Our Kids, Tenley & Brecken
Tenley, 11 - “I’m your awesome big sister! I love fashion, art, mommy’s pizza, my family, Toby, and my friends. I would love to show you all of my trinkets and I would love to teach you how to sew and create things. I love dessert, especially cupcakes, ice cream, and brownies – almost anything chocolate. I love to go to the beach and swim. I can’t wait for you to experience all of this with me!”
Brecken, 9 - “Welcome to our family! I can’t wait to show you my room and my cool Bitzee toy and play soccer together when you’re older. I love soccer, and I play it all year long. I also love my dog, Toby. I like video games, playing with my friends, drawing abstract art, and my family. My favorite foods are chicken wings and mozzarella sticks. I hope you will be happy with our family. I’m so excited to meet you!”
The Place We Call Home
Our charming Edgewood neighborhood of Cranston, Rhode Island is diverse and known for beautiful, historic homes. Our cozy 1920s home is full of character, natural light, and memories together. We’re one block away from the highly-rated public elementary school with a newly-built playground, which is great for the kids. Roger Williams Park and Zoo is also steps away, and a place our family loves to explore! We make frequent trips to the zoo as members, and enjoy events like the Holiday Lights Show and the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, featuring thousands of intricately carved pumpkins. Food Truck Fridays at the Carousel Village are a summer favorite, and the hills offer the best winter sledding. It’s a wonderful green space and we’re lucky to have it just steps from us. Our home is warm, welcoming, and safe, as is our community which is full of other young families. We have a fenced backyard with a playset we built, and space to run and play. Close to Providence, the “Creative Capital of New England,” we enjoy its arts, community events, and food, plus trips to Boston and other nearby attractions for culture, music, sports, and family fun.
Meet Our Furry Fam
We have an awesome family dog, Toby, and two cats, Jasper and Eleanor, who are awesome family cats! Lindsay nicknames all the pets, so they actually go by “Tobes, Toblerone, Pepperoni or Pep”, “Kitty Man” and “Kitten” around our house.
A Note from Toby
“I am so excited for you to be in our family, here’s the things I like to do. I like going on walks, eating cookies—they are sooo good! I hope I will be cute for you. My family sings songs for me. They love me so I hope you do. I am so excited for you. I will finally get more toys! I am so excited. Do your baby eyes, so you can get me toys. If you get me toys... I’ll get you toys, okay? You will answer this when you are here.”
Our Loved Ones
We both have loving families that we see often and enjoy spending time with. Lindsay's family lives in Massachusetts where she grew up, and includes her mother, father, and brother, plus grandmothers, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and longtime family friends. We’ve enjoyed many holiday gatherings, summer BBQs (her dad knows how to roast a pig!), and pool parties at Lindsay’s childhood home. Julie's immediate family still resides in Connecticut, including her mom & stepdad, dad & stepmom, her sister’s family, and one stepbrother’s family. Another stepbrother and his family live in Georgia, and her large extended family from both sides live all over the U.S. We see her immediate family at holidays and just for fun. All of our parents come to visit us in Rhode Island to spend quality time with us and the kids, as often as possible. As for extended family, it’s always fun to catch up with them at family reunions, weddings, and other special occasions, or we keep in touch through social media and fantasy football leagues. We also have incredible close local friends that we spend time with, both spontaneously and for special traditions like Friendsgiving, holiday parties, and family dinners.
Thoughts on Parenting
You may be wondering, why do we want another baby when we have two older kids? While we’re already immersed in parenthood, we’re going to be over the moon when we can finally share the full parenting experience together, from start to finish. Lindsay has been a special part of Tenley’s and Brecken’s lives for many years, but she has also always wanted the full experience of parenting from birth. Julie has always wanted more kids, and it’s been a shared wish to grow our family together. We feel so lucky to have found our love, and to be able to share it through adoption feels special. All of us are so excited to welcome a new little one to complete our family. We’re deeply grateful that you’re considering us. We understand that this is a big decision, and we want to assure you that your child will always be our number one priority. We know they will bring endless love, laughter, and joy into our lives. We look forward to sharing countless adventures and creating a lifetime of special memories together. Thank you for trusting us in this incredible journey.
One Last Thank You from Us to You
We have so much love to share, and we cannot wait to meet the child who we'll get to share it with! We are honored and incredibly grateful that you’re considering such a special plan for your child, and considering our family. We’re 100% committed to being the caring, supportive, loving parents you deserve in this process and in the future together – who strive to do their very best, every day. It’s remarkably brave and beautiful that you’re on this journey to give a family like ours such a wonderful gift and chance. We’re ready for our lives to change in every special way as new parents, and we will cherish every moment. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and wish you the best in finding your match as we look to find ours!
