Hi! We’re Doug and Jordan. Thanks for considering us! We live in Santa Rosa, California. We’re attorneys and have been together for 7 years. We’re excited to welcome our first child into our family! Your child will be loved, safe, and happy

Being a dad has been my dream for a long time. But your child deserves more than just a dream. I will work every day to be a great dad to your child. Being a great dad, to me, means loving and protecting your kid above all else. It means showing them all the cool, amazing things the world has to offer. It means teaching them to become a strong, confident, ambitious, and compassionate person. It means letting them try new things so they can learn and grow, but always being there to catch them when they fall. I promise you your child will have everything they need to feel happy, healthy, and safe. I promise I will love your child always. Thank you for giving us this chance.

I can’t wait for the chance to give your child all the opportunities (and more) that I was lucky to experience when I was growing up. I can’t wait to take them to Italy to learn about Italian language and culture, play with all the different exhibits at a children’s science museum, see the Buckeyes play football at Ohio Stadium, and watch all my favorite Disney movies from when I was a kid. I can’t wait to give them all these experiences, but I am also just as excited for the day-to-day activities. Helping them grow up to be loving, kind, generous, and empathetic will be my goal every single day. Lucky for me, I will have Jordan by my side who is going to be as good a dad as he is a person... and he is the best person.

We love to travel and share new experiences together, but your child will be the most important part of our adventures. Some of our favorite places we’ve been on vacation include Amsterdam, Italy, Hawaii, Mexico, Greece, Malibu, New York City, and Puerto Rico. For fun we like to play tennis and go to professional tennis tournaments, participate in trivia nights, go on hikes with friends and our dogs, and attend plays, musicals, and concerts in San Francisco. Between the two of us, our music interests span all genres. Unsurprisingly, our favorite songs to sing in the car vary greatly. Doug’s favorite is Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and Jordan’s favorite is The Show Goes on by Lupe Fiasco. We both share a love of 90s and 2000s R&B.

We love our home in Santa Rosa, California (which is in the heart of Sonoma County). Santa Rosa is a wonderful, family-friendly city. We’ve got a highly-rated elementary school one block away; live in a safe neighborhood with great neighbors on all sides who all have little kids; 3 bedrooms, a big back yard, and friends around the corner. We’re also really close to Jordan’s family, San Francisco, and cool beaches in Bodega Bay.

Milo is our 4-year-old domestic short hair cat who loves to cuddle and is always looking for a treat. Nimbus is a 2-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie/Australian Shepherd-mix who loves playing fetch more than anything. Nimbus and Milo love chasing each other and taking a nap together afterward.

Between our two families we have eleven siblings, nephews, nieces, and cousins who are all school-aged and will not only be your child’s family, but they will also be overjoyed to have a new best friend to play and grow up with. Your child will have amazing grandparents and great grandparents who will make sure your child feels extra loved and extra special. Our parents couldn’t be more excited to welcome a grandkid into their lives. Sheryl is an adoptions social worker, and Darryl is an elementary school teacher. Al is a retired Marine and airline pilot, and Jill is a retired flight attendant. They’re all incredibly kind, supportive, and caring.
