Adoption is not a fallback option for us, but a deliberate choice we have made. We believe that adoption is the best way for a child to enter our family. It aligns with our belief that family isn’t defined by shared DNA. We’ve always imagined ourselves as parents, discussing names and imagining the journey of raising a child. Every step we’ve taken in our lives feels like it has led to this moment, and we’re eagerly anticipating the adventures ahead.

Our journey started in the unlikeliest of places — on Twitter! Who initiated the connection is still a matter of debate between us, each of us convinced it was the other who hit the ‘follow’ button first. What followed were numerous re-tweets and direct messages, eventually leading to a connection on ‘LinkedIn’ because, naturally, that’s how all great love stories progress. When we finally met in person, the chemistry was real. We had already become best friends online, and that became the foundation to our relationship. After three years of dating, we decided to tie the knot surrounded by the beauty of the beach and backwaters, shared with 150 of our closest friends and family.

Over the last 8 years, our bond has only deepened. Our journey has been marked by growth, shared dreams and a lot of laughter!

I am an introvert who’d rather stay in with a good book. A lot of my closest friends however are extroverts and so is my husband, and I do feel energized talking to them and going out with them. On the weekend, you will probably find me walking our local farmer’s market. I love exploring places, but think of myself as an organized free-spirit who always needs my phone and wallet with me.

I’ve got a positive outlook on life, and believe that everything eventually works out. I always try to be a person that makes people feel seen, and feel every emotion. My favorite people in the world are my parents, my sister, my husband Biju and my dog and I will fiercely protect them.

Aditi is a cheerful, kind and easy-going person. She is incredibly smart, extremely hard working and passionate.

When she is invested in someone or something, she gives it her all without any doubts in her mind.

Aditi does not complicate things. She has simple goals and she goes about doing her thing according to plan. Between the two of us, she is our safety net. And because of her, I can take risks with my career, which is my comfort zone.

Aditi and I love our dog, Melody and she is extremely caring with babies and kids of our friends. I am extremely excited thinking about raising a child with her and I have no doubts that she will be a great mother.

I’d like to think I am a simple person with simple needs in life. I am ambitious with a strong emphasis given to my family and friends. I draw energy from meeting and engaging with people.

I often contemplate the purpose of life and I believe that it’s to make the people around you happy.

My interests include history, soccer, formula 1 racing and stories (movies, books, stories of people I meet). I am empathetic, which helps me forgive easy, solve conflicts fast and lead a stress-free life. I like to do one thing at a time and I am extremely focused on that one thing. I am a good listener and I’d like to believe I am a good narrator of stories too.

I don’t have siblings; hence, I tend to become very close to my good friends. My favorite people are my family and friends and I absolutely love our dog, Melody!

Biju is the most enthusiastic person you’ll ever meet. He has a childlike energy and a warmth that can make anybody feel at home right away.

He’s funny and will often use it to diffuse a difficult situation. At the same time, he is also a deep thinker and will remain calm in the most stressful situations, both at work and home. This quality makes him a formidable companion to live life with. Biju has always taken the road less traveled, whether it be starting his own company or his choice to adopt, and I really admire that about him. Regardless of the situation, you will never hear him complain about how hard things are!

Biju is affectionate with children, and puts in a lot of effort when he is with them. He is the favorite uncle to all of our friend’s children!

We both work in tech and enjoy the flexibility to work from home. Both of our jobs have great paternity and maternity leave policies.

Biju's Favorite Thing About Work: I like creating job opportunities for people and working with people to level up their skills.

We live in a residential and safe neighborhood in San Francisco surrounded by a lot of young diverse families.

We have a lot of parks and playgrounds in the area, with a lot of activities for local kids. We also have a new community center that offers everything from pickleball and basketball to street soccer. Movie nights under the stars and food trucks add a touch of urban charm.

Our daily routine includes walks by the water with our dog. We both enjoy the privilege of working from home, and our lunches are casual catch-ups filled with the day’s stories and shared laughs. Our favorite time together though is the evenings with us cooking, listening to music or watching television. The most favorite part of our house is our living room and kitchen where all the action happens!

We are both very close to our family. However, both sets of parents still live in India and visit us from time to time. Aditi also has a sister who we are really close to and is a part of a lot of our small and large decisions.

In the last decade or so, we have built a small community of friends like family in the city. We meet almost every weekend, go on holidays together, and we babysit their children and fur babies. Most of these friends have recently had babies of their own. Watching them navigate parenthood has been very exciting and also a great learning experience for us!

In addition, we both grew up with a close set of friends who now live in different parts of the country and world and love to visit often! All these diverse people have become our global village, one which we can’t wait to introduce our child to.

We have a 4-year-old dog named Melody, and she is the best of us! She has the biggest heart and makes us better human beings every day. When she sees a dog smaller than her, she always goes down on her stomach to make herself less intimidating so they can be friends!

Melody has been around our friends’ children and has been the sweetest and most gentle with them. We’re looking forward to our future child making many memories with her and going on adventures!
