Hello there! I’m Allison from Calabasas, California. I open my heart with gratitude to say thank you for taking the time to read my story. I can only imagine the thought and care that you have taken to come to this decision. I have always known and felt that I was meant to become a mom, I was just unsure as to how and when.

My journey to becoming a mom, as a single woman, is a bit different than expected but my love and desire to have a child is one of absolute certainty. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for taking the time to get to know me more and hear about my dedication, commitment and infinite love I have to hopefully raise your child.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be in a position to adopt a child and provide them with the love and care they need from the moment they come into this world. While I thought I would be married with my own children by now, like so many, my life has taken a different route. I am a casting director and have had the opportunity to meet incredible people throughout the years. I put a lot of time into my job with the goal of meeting my partner and eventually raising my family. While the partner didn’t happen, my desire to have a family has always been the most important thing that I have wanted.

I am a country-girl at heart who appreciates everything in nature. Being active, going on hikes, walks, learning about landscapes and animals and enjoying bike rides and outdoor activities are things that are so important to me. I grew up playing sports (I ran track and played soccer) and from an early age I learned how to be driven in my life, how to be a team player and find my own inner strengths.

At an early age, I was introduced to volunteering and giving to those in need. It was one of the greatest lessons I learned, and I plan to continue this with my future child. Some of my most memorable moments have been in watching someone else experience joy and connection and being able to share in that with them is a very special gift.

Traveling is something near and dear to me. I have volunteered at an orphanage in Africa, been on Safari and stayed with a local family on a farm in Tuscany. I think getting to see different cultures and experience life through their eyes is such an important part of life. Meeting different people locally and abroad is something I want to introduce your child to as well. It’s easy to have love and compassion for someone when you understand where they came from, and these are important qualities for me to instill.

Being in nature, a perfectly sunny day, playing at the park, going on a hike or bike ride and belly laughing. The wondrous spirit of a child is something magical and allowing a child to experience all these previous moments is everything. I would love to share with your child as they learn what makes them happy and watch them experience joy in every day. I went from being a curious child to a curious adult. I love to meet others who are different from me, I love to experience the beauties of life we find in nature and I love to laugh.

These are all things I hope to pass down to my child.

I live in Calabasas, California. The community is in a cute town and has mostly warm weather throughout the year. We are surrounded by many parks, schools, soccer fields, hiking and biking trails. It’s a lovely community with all of the luxuries of a big city. There is a park right across from my house and many families with small children that are neighbors. The beach is about a 15-minute drive from me and a nice retreat to get away to occasionally. I’ve also loved living in a community where you can walk to your friends’ homes, schools and parks and where I live everything is within a couple miles away. The neighborhood kids enjoy playing basketball in the front yards here, swimming in the neighbor’s pool or coming over for an afternoon snack. It’s that kind of community! My friends that I grew up with have young children still in the neighborhood and my parents live 5 minutes away! They cannot wait to be grandparents and spoil their first grandchild.

The school system out here is one of the highest ranked in the state and in fact, it is one of the reasons I decided to move back to the hometown I grew up in. From school to sports, and the landscape surrounding the city, this is a great place to grow up and to raise a child.

I am fortunate to come from a family full of love at its core. While schoolwork was important, equally important was engaging in extracurricular activities and volunteering. My parents are married for 40 years and are very much looking forward to having a grandchild to love. My sister is a teacher who absolutely adores kids and cannot wait for her baby sister to raise a child so she can be the favorite aunt.

My extended family – my aunt, cousins and niece are all very close. We spend every holiday together; have dinners every month and my cousins are all raised like sisters. They are all ready for us to have one more addition to our family.

Every story is different, every journey is different, and everyone deserves a chance. I was raised to know the difference of right and wrong, to have compassion for others, to work hard, to be kind and most importantly to have fun and enjoy the journey. I am so excited to become a mom and give the endless love to a child they need as they become their own special person.

One of my greatest joys is watching my niece Olivia grow up. Livi (her nickname) is also part of a single parent household. She is blessed with being a talented singer and dancer and I’ve been lucky to be a part of her world. While I did not get the singing or dancing gene, she and I have a special bond and she is so excited for me to become a mom.

I am designated “Aunt Ali” to my friends’ children. Being present for a child’s first experiences is such an exciting and important time. Although I have experienced many firsts with my friend’s kids and my niece, Olivia, I am so thrilled to be a part of my future child’s firsts as well!

She’s been there since Olivia was born, rocking her to sleep at night, going to her choir performances when she got older and being the friend and aunt she has needed. Family values mean everything. They teach us how to love, be compassionate and care for others. From our family, we learn what it means to work hard, to give back and to find laughter and joy in our days. We experience love that is unconditional and non-judgmental.

I think it is important to encourage my child to find their own voice and talents. I will always be there to support and love them while providing guidance and opportunity. I cannot wait to be a mom and watch my future child find their own strengths, be it in school, sports, the arts or something else. I am looking forward to encouraging their first painting using their fingers, taking them to the beach and zoo and traveling together. I am looking forward to teaching them to be thoughtful with their words and actions and most importantly to be kind. And, to help them really know the meaning of love.
