Hello! We are Anne-Marie and Kris from Ontario, Canada. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and get to know us. We know it takes strength, courage and selflessness to go through this process.

We have been unable to have biological children, but still have a desire to be parents. On our journey we have looked into many options and feel that the USA adoption program is the best way for us to start a family.

We met during the winter: the good old fashioned way of online dating. Come summer, due to air conditioning at Kris’s, we decided it was time to officially start to live together. We knew we had the same values and had become part of one another’s families. During our first year of living together, we adopted our loving rescue dog Peanut. From traveling, to game nights with friends, our love continued to grow. After 4 years of dating, and many adventures, we were married in 2018, we celebrated with friends and family by our side.

We have been happily married and feel that the only thing remaining is to share our joy with a child.

I was born in Northern Ontario in a city on the shore of Lake Superior. My mother always encouraged me to try multiple interests; from violin, to dance class to softball.

My friends and family would say I have a great sense of humor: which I think will be a useful tool for parenting and not take everything so seriously.

In my free time I like to hike, enjoy live theatre, and support local community markets/events with friends. Being an X-ray technologist I am fortunate to have a flexible schedule with shift work. I will be able to take extended maternity leave with a new child. I will also work part time throughout their childhood.

I was born in Southern Ontario and grew up just outside of a small town. Growing up in the country I spent a lot of time in nature. Our family always took camping trips every summer which took us through most of the USA and Canada.

My friends and family would say I am patient, quiet, and reserved with a wry sense of humor. These I believe will be an asset for parenting. In my free time I like to golf, relax with my wife, enjoy live theatre, and work on projects around the home.

My career as a mining engineer; which I love, brought me to Northern Ontario where I met Anne-Marie. It has given me the ability to work through challenging situations and travel to see the world: which we hope to do with a future child.

Living in Northern Ontario you get to experience all four seasons. From the brisk fall days with the changing colors, to chilly winter with an abundance of snow, to the spring thaw, and the long warm days of summer. Forty-five minutes from the Minnesota border on the North shores of Lake Superior; our city contains over 100 parks and is home to the Sleeping Giant and Kakabeka falls. All of this creates the opportunity for epic outdoor adventures and sports.

We are home to the 6th most culturally diverse city of its size in North America. Our neighborhood has an eclectic mix of races, ages and religions. Our house is close to a recreational field and playground to enjoy, as well as multiple schools.

Peanut loves playing with his toys, playing fetch, and cuddling. He will make a great companion to your child!

Anne-Marie: I have a small loving family. My mother Lise and her partner Marc are very active and are more than ready to help raise their grandchild. My older sister Stephanie is outgoing and fun and would definitely be the cool auntie. I’m an auntie to two godchildren, whom I love spending time with. They are great young role models for a child.

Kris: My family consists of my parents Judy and Glen (deceased), and my younger brother Kerry, who is my best friend (next to my wife). We have a large extended family we surround ourselves with during the holidays. Kerry, his wife Vanessa, and nephew Eric are always fun to visit with and we try to see them in Ottawa or have them over as often as we can. My parents were great role models from coaching us in sports to assisting us in clubs; which I can only hope to be as good as.

Christmas is our favorite time. It’s always filled with festivities, family and food, from traditional dinners to cookies. Home Alone and Elf will be holiday staples to share with your child.

We split the holidays between our two families; there is an abundance of love during celebrations. We would love to have yearly family vacations to introduce new cultures and experiences.

We look forward to new holiday traditions with your child: from Easter egg hunts to planning Halloween costumes, to birthday parties.

We love playing boardgames and have a large collection. From competing with each other, or amongst friends and family, we are always up for a good game.

We also love to travel and have a bucket list of places to go, that we are slowly picking away at.

We are looking forward to becoming parents as we have so much love to give. We hope to have the opportunity to hear more about you and your hopes and dreams for your child’s future.
