Hello! We are Kathleen and Brad, along with our daughter Savannah from Metro Atlanta, Georgia. We are so grateful for your courage and strength as you consider open adoption. We are honored that you have taken the time to get to know us. We have built our life together and are so ready to welcome another child into our family. We would love to connect with you and have you as part of our family to whatever extent you are comfortable with.
Dear Birth Mother
Why Adoption
Adoption has been a large part of both of our lives. Kathleen's sister has a son who was adopted and her best friend also adopted her son from Taiwan. Brad also has a cousin who was adopted. Through our friends and families we have seen the joy that adoption can bring to a family and we look forward to this special relationship as well. Even as we were getting married and settling into our life together we had a desire to adopt. Savannah is our biological child, however, we struggled with fertility issues afterwards, so we pursued adoption. We have always wanted to have a bigger family!
Our Story
We first met online through Match.com while living in North Carolina and immediately clicked. On our first date we stayed out late talking at a coffee shop and within six months we were cruising through the Panama Canal with Brad’s family! We married about two years later and had a wonderful honeymoon touring the Mediterranean, visiting sites in Spain, Italy, France, Turkey and Greece. After moving to Georgia, we welcomed our daughter, Savannah, into our lives and now are ready to grow our family with another child. We make spending time together as a family our priority and look forward to many new adventures as we expand our family through adoption. We are both Catholic and are active members in our church.
Hobbies and Interests
Traveling and exploring new places and cultures is a passion of ours whether it is horseback riding in the Caribbean, skiing in Utah, ziplining across the jungle in Costa Rica, or strolling through a ruined castle on the banks of the Loch Ness in Scotland. One of our favorite discussions is where will we take our next vacation. We also love to cook and cannot wait to share the joy of baking and decorating Christmas cookies with our child! One of Kathleen's passions is running and she has a goal to run a marathon in every state. It has been fun to explore different cities in the United States and also to run some shorter races together as a family. Kathleen also recently achieved a lifelong ambition of running in the Boston marathon. Brad is a big sports fan and loves to watch and play golf with Savannah. Brad has also helped coach Savannah's basketball team and loves sharing his knowledge of different sports. Brad cannot wait to add another sports fan to the family! He is also a die hard Indianapolis Colts fan and would love to high five our little Colts fan when they win the Super Bowl!

When Kathleen and I first met I was attracted to her beautiful smile and her passion for everything that she does in life. As we continue our life together I am constantly amazed by Kathleen’s caring for people which permeates her entire life from her choice of career to her interactions with family, friends, and people we meet. She is always thinking about how she can make Savannah’s and my life richer and more fulfilling and makes spending time with us her absolute priority. Kathleen is an amazing partner to me and mother to Savannah and has been dreaming about expanding our family.

Brad is also extremely helpful around the house and often does the cooking and cleaning without any prompting! I feel so fortunate and blessed to have Brad in my life and know that his heart will only grow fuller as we expand our family.

Our Home
Soon after getting married we relocated from North Carolina to the Atlanta area in Georgia for Brad’s job and are proud to call the Atlanta metro area home. We also have a spacious yard with a playset and garden that we grow ourselves. Our neighborhood is a diverse and welcoming community with a beautiful lake, park, pool, tennis courts, and a nice downtown area with shops and restaurants. Each year, residents help plant new trees in our neighborhood and we enjoyed planting a dogwood tree with our daughter a few years ago. It has been neat to watch it grow! Our neighborhood has many events that welcome outside residents such as a weekly farmers market, music performances, a big 4th of July parade, and Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the lake. We also would love to introduce your child to Atlanta and all that this wonderful city has to offer such as the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta and the Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
Meet Savannah
Savannah is an energetic and lovable child with a real passion for dance, art and music. Sports are becoming a bigger part of her life as well with interests particularly in swimming, tennis and softball. Savannah has been such a blessing in our lives, and we cannot imagine life without her. She is good-natured, kind, and always happy. She is excited to be a big sister.
Our Family
We have moved from our original hometowns but our bonds to our families are still very strong and we visit with them as often as possible. Our children will have nine cousins to play with including three here in Georgia. Brad’s parents also recently moved to Georgia. Both of our parents would love a new grandchild to spoil during their visits to our home or our visits to see them!
Traditions
We have a family tradition of celebrating the 4th of July holiday by Kathleen running the Peachtree Roadrace and Savannah and Brad being there to cheer her on! The Peachtree Roadrace is the largest 10k race in the world and is right in downtown Atlanta. It is great to celebrate both our passion for running and the birth of our nation! We also look forward to taking your child to see the beautiful mountains of Colorado when we visit one of Brad's brothers and family and to the beaches in New Jersey when we visit Kathleen's family including her sister's four children.
On Parenting
We will ensure that our children have opportunities to succeed and pursue their passion in life. Providing our children with an excellent and diverse education is a top priority for us including introducing them to the arts, music, sports and recreational activities. We love to build traditions especially around holidays with our extended family. We believe that parenting is a team effort and are committed to do whatever is necessary to help your child reach their full potential in life. We will instill in our children the core values of respect for people, hard work, honesty, service to others and a thirst for knowledge. The best way we think to instill these behaviors is to be good role models for each of them.
Final Thank You
We want you to know that we will always love your child and will share what an incredible person you are and how your love for them allowed us to grow our family. We believe every child is a gift from God. We look forward to getting to know you and building an ongoing relationship with you that makes you comfortable.
