Hello! We are Joshua and Brendan (and our sweet puppy, Lily-Rose) from Rhode Island.

We are so incredibly thankful to you for considering us to raise your child. We haven't met you, but we are so inspired by your strength in choosing adoption for your child. That was an enormous decision, and we are forever grateful to you because your selfless choice opens the door for a family like ours to achieve our dream of becoming a complete family. Our home is filled, every day, with laughter, music, encouragement, love – and we imagine it all the time filled with the joyful wonder of a child. We have been uncles and godfathers. We have given love and joy to the babies and children we are so blessed to have in our lives. And now, we are ready to be dads. Thank you for reading our profile. We hope that it gives you a snapshot of who we are and, most importantly, how much love your child would receive from us – and how much happiness we would experience as a family.

Our story began in 2016 when we met online. Before we ever saw one another, we had already formed a special, strong connection by exchanging lots of messages. When we finally met, a few weeks later, we chatted over bagels and orange juice at our local Panera. And there, we learned that our connection – and our chemistry – was even stronger in person. That first date turned into a second date… the very next day! Months after our first "hello" we adopted our Boston Terrier, Lily-Rose. By our first anniversary, we purchased our first condo. And three years later, we took a trip to Paris, France, where Joshua got down on one knee and asked Brendan to marry him. One year later, surrounded by family and friends from all over the world, we were married in Foxborough, MA.

We traded in our condo keys for keys to our first house – our dream home, and an idyllic spot to raise a family. Now, we are excited to take this next step. Should you choose us to be the parents of your child, we welcome an open adoption process – and we, of course, respect the decision to not have an open adoption. It is your choice and we are on board for all options; we will always ensure that your child knows what a strong, inspiring mother you are.

Brendan is a morning person who loves sitting out on our patio enjoying a cup of coffee before anyone wakes up. Joshua is a night owl who loves curling up on the couch with Lily-Rose watching the latest Netflix show. We always make time for family game nights and outings – whether it be walks together or going to the dog park.

We love having the opportunity to travel and discover different cultures and explore new surroundings. Not every classroom has four walls; travel is one of the best educators you can have. Traveling has taught us to appreciate the differences that make up the world we live in. We can’t wait to explore more of this amazing world with our child and see things through fresh, innocent eyes. Travel is a joy, but traveling as a family…that is a gift that we so look forward to.

I was born in Minnesota and lived with my mom and grandparents on a turkey farm in the country. My grandparents meant the world to me. Growing up, they taught me that family is a precious gift. I consider myself an old soul and I do believe it is because for the first eight years of my life, my grandparents were my whole world. They taught me about hard work, love and family. When I moved to Massachusetts with my parents at 8, my love of Theatre Arts began. What started as skits around the house turned into summers performing in community musicals.

I work in the travel industry which has afforded me the opportunity to see the world. I believe it’s so important to see how others live, to build empathy and understanding by exploring new places with an open-mind. I can’t wait to experience new and favorite destinations as a family. I can’t wait to travel the world as a dad and show our future child different cultures and all of the beauty that there is to be found.

One of the first things that I noticed about Joshua is that he’s a natural caregiver. He is incredible with the children in his life. He provides nurture so readily and effortlessly. As someone who enjoyed taking family trips and traveling while I grew up, I love Joshua’s excitement for exploring the world. He is so curious about other cultures and loves to experience new destinations. The first time Joshua met my nephew, Connor, I knew that he would be a wonderful father. They bonded instantly and he always knew how to connect and engage with him, how to enter his world, play for hours and support his needs. Now whenever they see each other, the days are filled with games, science experiments and books to read. He was born to be a dad - and I'm just so excited for this next phase of our lives, to see him as a dad and to be parents together.

I grew up in South Windsor, Connecticut. My parents always had three philosophies that my brother, sister and I were taught – always put family first, work hard and be kind. We took family trips, skied all winter together, and enjoyed building memories during quality time. My parents were both dedicated to hard work to make sure that my siblings and I wanted for nothing. They introduced me to sports and arts at a young age. I tried every single sport because they believed in trying everything to find your interests and passions and encouraging us in all that we wanted to do. I went to college as a film major and I have a love of comedies and horror films. My favorite memories from growing up were from our family ski trips, where my love of skiing began. I can’t wait to experience those family ski trips with my future child.

I absolutely love animals, especially dogs. For years, I volunteered on Sundays at a local animal rescue shelter where I would get to walk dogs, play with them and clean their kennels. Watching a dog walk into a new kennel with fresh blankets and new toys is heartwarming.

What I love about Brendan is his gentle nature. He is calm and kind, easygoing and so friendly. He has such a remarkable ability to put people at ease, show genuine interest in their lives and create friendships because of his unwavering loyalty. Brendan is a cheerleader to all, an amazing friend and someone who is up for any kind of adventure. He can walk into a room knowing no one and leave having befriended just about everyone. He makes me smile and laugh daily and I couldn’t imagine a better husband to spend the rest of my life with. Brendan is a natural animal lover and loves walking dogs. His patience and compassion toward all animals is one of the reasons I know he will be a great dad.

There is nothing better than walking around during fall when the leaves have turned beautiful shades of green, gold, and red. Our beautiful house is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in a charming Rhode Island suburb that is a top-ten school district.

The neighborhood is always filled with families walking their dogs and children riding bikes or walking with their families. We so love being a part of the scene with our dog… and soon with our future child. Our fenced in backyard has a sprawling lawn, outdoor seating, and so much room to run and play. Our summers are filled afternoons spent outside, barbecuing as Lily-Rose fetches sticks and naps in the sun. Joshua loves to garden, tending to his hydrangeas and roses. A short 15-minute drive away is the city of Providence where we love to try new restaurants, enjoy a night of theatre, and walking around the waterfront.

Lily-Rose came into our lives over four years ago. She is a tiny Boston Terrier with a big personality. She loves fetching sticks in the backyard and is extremely playful and affectionate with everyone she meets. She is used to children and always gentle with them. You can usually find her snuggled up next to you under the covers or giving you licks (Kisses!). We can’t wait to watch as Lily-Rose bonds with the newest member of our family. They will "fur sure" become the best of friends.

Brendan’s parents have been happily married for 50 years and live nearby in Narragansett, Rhode Island. His brother Ryan lives a short drive away in Boston with his wife, newborn son Lincoln and adorable dog “Nashville”. His sister and her wife live in San Francisco with their son Connor who is 9. We all love spending time together as a family at his parents’ summer cottage on Narragansett, right near beaches of the beautiful Atlantic coastline.

Joshua’s parents live in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 Lakes. They have been happily married for 31 years. He has two younger sisters, Sydney and Emma and a large Norwegian extended family. We take road trips to visit Joshua’s family as often as we can and also experience the beauty of America along the way. Joshua’s parents can’t wait to be first-time grandparents.

In the summer we will be swimming in the pool with our closest friends and their children, our nieces and nephews. In the fall, we always make time for apple picking and hayrides. We love to enjoy the pillars of each season in New England and we cannot wait to swim with our future child in the summer, visit the pumpkin patch in the fall, ski in the winter, and see all the glorious flowers and trees blossom in the springtime.

Our friends are extremely supportive people. On weekends you'll find us playing board games around the dinning room table.
