Hello from The Woodlands, Texas! We know that this is one of the most difficult as well as important decisions you will ever make. We hope that through this small look into our lives, you will know that we will provide an excellent home for your child.

We love being parents. There is no more important and fulfilling job in the world to us.
Being part of a blended family, together we have experienced the preteen world of drama, the beautiful teenage years through college, as well as raising our daughter together from infancy. We were able to welcome our daughter eight years ago through in vitro fertilization, but all of our (numerous) attempts that followed have failed. Our family is not yet complete, and we can only hope that we can find someone who will bless our lives the way we hope to bless theirs.

We met in church (so cliche, right?). Really, we got to know each other over drinks with our choir friends after rehearsal every week. And that is where our love story begins.

We learned very early on that we travel well together and still try to escape every year or two to an international destination that we have never been to before. Now that our youngest daughter is old enough, we are starting to include her in our adventures.

We have also discovered our love of cooking. We both liked to cook, but staying home over the last couple of years has made us both into gourmet chefs! We seriously argue over who is going to GET to cook dinner. We’re just hoping that Allison learns to appreciate food that doesn’t come out of a box.

While some of our favorite experiences include traveling across the United States and beyond, we also love the little things that we experience every day such as:

• Cooking a new meal together
• Walking the tree-lined sidewalks in our town
• Spending time with Allison and our pets

They are all fulfilling parts of our lives and things we are lucky to be able to enjoy.

We both enjoy reading and love that Allison is becoming an avid reader herself.
We also enjoy watching cooking shows together and have even started “competing” against each other when we watch Jeopardy. We really fell in love with each other in the mountains, and one of our favorite things to do together is hike. We have hiked two 14,000+ foot mountains together, but also enjoy simply exercising together.

We have also been known to build Lego towers together. We started building small things with Allison, but ended up building Hogwarts as well... and have no where to put it in our house.

We love to play games. Almost every Saturday night we play trivia with our friends over Zoom, or we log onto our Switch to play Mario Kart against each other virtually. We are also starting to get destroyed by Allison while playing Uno.

I grew up in Dallas, Texas, with my parents, sister, brother, and several wonderful pets. My father is an attorney and my mother was a stay at home mom. Both of my parents were extremely involved in my childhood (and in their grandchildren’s lives), attending concerts, school plays, sports games, and the like. Their approach to parenthood is what shaped my values as a parent.

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in History. When I became a mom, I left my job as a paralegal to become a stay at home mom. With Allison now school aged, I spend my time volunteering at school, organizing our household, taking care of our numerous pets, and escorting Allison to her various after school activities. I love to cook and bake for my family, play tennis, hike with my dogs, and travel.

I am extremely fortunate to have such a flexible schedule to take care of my family.

One thing you should know about Catherine is she obsesses over things she loves. Allison is of course her #1 obsession, but the dogs and cats are definitely up there. I like to think I’m somewhere in the mix, too.

If she is interested in a topic you will know it because she will have built an entire notebook with dividers, color documents, and sticky-tabs. I think we have gone through an entire set of printer cartridges on our adoption journey thus far!

She loves unconditionally and with a capacity that very few can match. And if you want to mess with anyone in her crew, watch out! She also takes time for herself. And we make sure to take time together to keep our marriage strong so that we can be better parents.

I grew up in a city in East Texas called Tyler, which claims to be the Rose Capital of the World.

Tyler was too small (both in size and mindedness) for me so I darted to the Dallas/Fort Worth area for college and beyond. I lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for 27 of the past 30 years (excluding a 3-year stay in New Jersey) and recently moved to the Houston area for a new job in the insurance consulting space.

I have two college-aged children from a previous marriage. Griffin is a musical theater major at Montclair State University in New Jersey graduating in May 2023, and Bekah is at Texas A&M and will graduate with a BS in Engineering and a MS in Finance in December 2024. We get to see Bekah quite a bit but Griffin is further away so we mainly get to see him on holidays and vacations.

Catherine and I felt so fortunate when our daughter Allison was born. She is truly the light of our lives, and we cannot wait to share our love with another child.

If there was one word I could use to describe Jeremy, I would say “disarming.” Jeremy has an ability to put people at ease with his sense of humor and outgoing personality that is unmatched. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I’ve ever done.

In addition to being funny, Jeremy is one of the smartest people I know. When people ask what he does for a living, they usually tilt their heads to the side when he says he’s an Actuary. Basically, he is incredibly good at math and statistics and uses his abilities to assess risks for businesses and insurance companies.

All three of his children have wonderful relationships with him and are as quick to tease him as he is everyone else. He is an incredibly devoted father.

I love our relationship because while we are a couple, we are also best friends and never pass up a chance to go on an adventure together. Jeremy fills our home with laughter, stability, and a sense that we can accomplish anything if we do it together.

We live in a township called The Woodlands, Texas. It is an affluent area just north of Houston called “the Bubble” by Houstonites as we rarely need to leave The Woodlands for anything other than work and special events in Houston.

The township is beautiful. There are pine trees everywhere and in fact you might drive right past a grocery store or gas station and not even know it because they are hidden behind the trees. The sidewalks are also tree-lined so even on a hot Summer day, you can walk in complete shade.

The public schools in The Woodlands are some of the best in Texas and Texas also has many excellent Universities. There are so many activities to take advantage of too. Allison is already in piano lessons, tennis lessons, and Girl Scouts (Brownies).

"I have always wanted to be a big sister!" Allison has been asking to be a big sister for as long as we can remember. She is a vivacious, empathetic, smart, and hysterical 8-year-old who enjoys piano, tennis, reading, and most especially, taking tests at school! She enjoys close relationships with her cousins and our friends’ children but has always wanted to grow up with a sibling at home.

We are extremely close to Catherine’s parents, known as Mae Mae and Dano to their grandchildren.

Any time we have needed a babysitter or someone to stay with Allison when we went out of town, Mae Mae and Dano were there. Now that we no longer live in Dallas, we don’t see them multiple times a week, but we’ve still managed to see them at least twice a month!

Catherine has an older sister who lives in Texarkana with her husband and four children. Allison LOVES her cousins, and together they enjoy many a cousin sleepover. Catherine also has an older brother who lives in Dallas and loves teaching Allison new songs on the piano. We are also close with Catherine’s extended family and love to spend the holidays with them.

Jeremy’s mom, sister, and brother all live in Tyler. When we celebrate Christmas with his family, there are usually at least 12 kids under the age of 15 running around! We also love to spend time at his sister’s house so Allison can spend time playing with her cousin, Reagan.

We also are blessed with a very tight friend group, some of whom Catherine has known for more than 25 years! Three of our best friends (one couple and one single mom) have adopted babies in the last three years and have been a great help in this process for us.

Estes is our 3-year-old lab mix who loves people, always wants attention, and is ready to go for a run or a car ride at any minute!

Breck is our 1-year-old red heeler mix. He is in love with giving kisses, almost to the point of obsession! He will play with Allison for hours on end but also thoroughly enjoys nap time. He keeps us laughing!

Paris & Muni: Our newest additions are these two playful kittens. They love messing up Catherine’s plants, knocking things off tables for Breck to chew up, and curling up in Jeremy and Catherine’s bed at the end of a mischief-filled day.

We believe that parenting is a gift and a privilege of the highest order, and one that brings us both joy and fulfillment.

We will always speak of your bravery and endless love for your child. We will also stay connected with you as much as possible, if that is what you would like.
