We are Jeff & Cathy from California. First and foremost, we want you to know how much we admire your strength, courage, selflessness and the love you have for your child.

We can’t begin to imagine what you must be going through at this time, and we realize what an important decision this is. We are so excited for the opportunity to adopt again, and to have the blessing of another child. We have so much love we want to share with them, and are ready to show them all the beauty life has to offer.

We’re so grateful that you’re taking the time to get to know a little about us. We’ve been happily married for 11 years, and we have a 3-year-old daughter, Emily, whom we were blessed with through adoption. We’ve always known we wanted more than one child, as we would love for them to both experience the strong sibling bonds that we each grew up with.

We believe in honesty, respect, and valuing bonds with loved ones. Your child will always be surrounded by love. Our goal is to raise our children to be loving, down-to-earth, and well-rounded. We’re dedicated to being the best parents we can be, by providing the opportunities they need to reach their full potential, teaching the importance of education, and creating a nurturing environment where they feel safe and encouraged to follow their dreams and live a fulfilling life.

We worked together for 6 years prior to dating. The more we were around each other, we realized how much fun we had together and our connection was much deeper than just friendship.

Our dating life was full of excitement, concerts, bike rides, beach days, trips, and just curling up on the couch with a good movie. We talked about our hopes and dreams for the future, which always included children.

In 2012, we had our dream wedding, surrounded by all of our loved ones. Although the struggle to grow our family was difficult, going through it all made it clear to us what a beautiful gift adoption is, and we are so excited to be on this journey again.

I’m so proud to have her by my side, and it makes me feel so happy to see what a wonderful mom she is. One of the many things I love about Cathy is her compassionate and sensitive nature. She always finds the best in people, and is quick to brighten their day with her kindness. Cathy has an absolutely contagious smile and laugh, so much so that her coworkers gave her the nickname “Happy.” This has been such a beautiful influence in my life, as she’s always there to remind me that no matter how stressful a situation is, life is good, and the best way to get through it is with positivity.

Someone told me once that you can learn a lot about a person by seeing how children interact with them, and to watch Cathy with kids lets you see immediately what an amazing person she is. She has a natural way of understanding what they need, and I love watching her nurture all the kids in our lives, especially our daughter.

As much as Cathy enjoyed her previous career of restoring classic movies, she finds it so much more fulfilling to now be a stay-at-home mom. It’s such a gift for her to be present for all of the “firsts” that will happen in our kids’ lives, and we know it will create special memories for our family.

What first attracted me to Jeff was his knowledge and work ethic. Since we met through work, I was able to see him in that environment first. He was always eager to take on new challenges, and was willing to teach others to help them grow. I thought to myself, “Wow, this guy is really switched on, patient… and cute!” Needless to say, I started finding myself paying closer attention to him.

I completely melted with how sweet, sensitive, and loving he is. He makes me feel so safe and secure. He is not afraid to show his love for me, our daughter, or any of our loved ones. It's so heart-warming to see how much pride he takes in raising our daughter, and how much fun he has doing it.

When we talk about our children and the hopes and dreams we have for them, I see the excitement in his eyes. It makes me so emotional, happy and proud of what a great dad he is! I can’t wait for him to share that love with another child as we grow our family.

Jeff works in the entertainment industry. He’s worked hard to become a Feature Colorist, where he works closely with each movie’s creative team to bring their vision of the movie to life through color. He loves being able to make a living by blending his creativity with his technical background, and having the flexibility to be home when he’s between projects.

Emily is a happy, social, curious and loving 3-year-old. She is always happy to spend time with her cousins and friends, and is so excited to become a big sister. She is already talking about how she will help with snuggles, feedings and diaper changes. Most of all, she wants to show him or her all the things she loves doing: playing with her baby dolls, dressing up in fun costumes and playing outside. We know how special a sibling bond can be, and we can’t wait to have that connection for our kids as they grow together.

Cathy grew up the youngest of five. With a fourteen year age gap between her and her oldest sibling, she also grew up close with her nephews and nieces. In total, she has 14 nephews and nieces, and 7 great nephews and nieces.

Her parents were happily married for 46 years when unfortunately her dad passed away. Their relationship had always been a great example to her of what it meant to have a loving marriage and a strong family.

Jeff is the oldest of two, and his younger sister has 3 young kids. We’re so excited for our kids to be at an age where they can grow up close with their cousins.

His parents have been happily married for over 40 years, and being that they live less than 5 minutes away, they love spending lots of time with their grandkids.

Our Catholic faith has instilled in us good values, beautiful traditions, and a strong sense of community. We hope that, by raising our children the same way, we will provide them with a base for having good morals and empathy towards people and life.

We have a cat named Ernie, who loves belly rubs, naps and head scratches. He’s great with kids, and he’s very protective of Emily (probably because she sneaks him extra treats!). We also have 3 chickens: Loretta Hen, Stevie Chicks, and Amelia Egghart. It’s so cute to watch Emily learn about taking care of them and collecting fresh eggs.

We live in Ventura County, in Southern California. We recently purchased our dream home to raise children in. Our city has been rated as one of the safest in the state, and is full of activities for kids.

Our neighborhood is known for “going big” during the holiday seasons, it’s so much fun! We get over 350 trick-or-treaters at Halloween, and we have parades during Christmas. Luckily, everyone around us loves decorating!

We’re fortunate to be surrounded by great neighbors, and we often get together for BBQs, swimming, and block parties. It’s so wonderful to watch our daughter be raised in such a tight-knit community filled with love and support.

We’re tucked in the hills about 30 minutes from the beach, and 2 hours from snow resorts, lakes, and mountains. We’re within walking distance of beautiful neighborhood parks, hiking trails, and bridle paths to explore. Speaking of which, some our more “unusual” neighbors are chickens, goats, and horses. It’s living in the suburbs, with a little bit of country fun!
