Hello there! We are Damian & Omar we live in Round Rock, Texas. We know that you are making a difficult choice that will enable others to expand their family. Damian is adopted, so when expanding our family, adoption was the obvious choice for us. We both come from very different, but loving families. Damian is an only child, and Omar has two brothers. We are very involved in each of our families, and our child will be as well. That would include you as well, if you are open to it. We are grateful for your consideration and you taking the time to learn more about us.
Dear Birth Mother...
Our Story
We met in 2012, just after Omar moved to Los Angeles, California, from El Paso, Texas. Pretty much from the day we met, we have been inseparable.
In 2014, we moved to Austin, Texas and were married in the fall of 2016, with our wedding in Omar’s brother’s backyard. The two of us have very different personalities, but our differences balance each other out and make us stronger. Aside from our family, we also have a very close network of friends. Having a family of our own is a dream we have shared since the beginning and are looking forward to that next phase of our relationship. Damian was placed for adoption at birth. His adoptive parents, always treated him as their son, 100%, he never felt “adopted”. It is because of this that the adoption path is important to us.
About Damian, by Damian
I was born in Indiana, and placed for adoption at birth. As an only child, I grew up more of an introvert, dreaming big, and kind of a nerd.
I have always wanted to be a parent, but did not think it possible until I met Omar. My main experience with children has been through my friends’ kids, and now my nieces/nephews through my in-laws. Kids tend to love me because I am a good listener, and I do not talk to them like they are kids (they appreciate that).
Damian’s Adoption Story
My adoption was a closed adoption, which was the standard until about 30 years ago. By the time the adoption records were opened, they had passed. I have met my birth mother’s sister, and one of my brothers.
My birth mother was looking for me, and if we had met, I would have told her that I have always been very grateful for the life she gifted to me.
With open adoption being the standard today, your child will have the opportunity to know you, if that is what you would like.

About Omar, by Omar
I was born in Juarez, Mexico and raised in El Paso, Texas. I became a United States citizen shortly after high school.
Between two brothers, and many cousins, I have always been around a lot of family. I have one nephew and three nieces, one great niece, and countless second cousins.
Being a parent has always been my goal, but the timing was never right. We find ourselves at the right time now.
While Damian is an introvert, I am an extrovert. I love meeting and talking with people which helped me in my dental career and my current career in Real Estate.
Fun Fact: Omar’s first career was in the dental field. He spent 18 years in that profession, and loves talking about anything dental.
More About Omar, by Damian
My favorite thing about Omar is he is always there for those that he loves. He is the first to step in when something needs to be done. Whether this is for his family, or mine…it is never a question. He is there, always. Before they passed, both of my parents loved him instantly, just like I did. Omar loves family, food and any reason to bring those together. He lives life to the fullest, and brings joy to any occasion.

A Few of Our Interests
Omar inherited his love of cooking from his grandmother and can spend hours in the kitchen while talking with his mother making their family recipes. Damian loves reading, writing, and theater.
We both love music, traveling, Disney/Theme Parks, and spending quality time with family. We cannot wait to take our child on these adventures with us.
Our Faith
Both of us have different backgrounds when it comes to faith. Omar’s background is in Catholicism. Damian’s background is Methodist, and is nondenominational these days. For both of us, faith and our spirituality are important to us. Our child will be guided by us, but will ultimately have the option of making their own choices when it comes to faith.
Our Home & Community
We live in a fairly new community in Round Rock, Texas with our two dogs. Rocco is a Miniature Schnauzer and Lola is a Sheep-a-doodle, they love to play. Aside from our immediate neighbors, we also participate in several neighborhood social media groups, and volunteer for the Homeowners Association. We host annual Trick-Or-Treating at our house as well as gatherings with our neighbors on holiday weekends.
Omar’s favorite place in the house is cooking in the kitchen. Damian’s favorite is his office, which is filled with his memorabilia collections. Though, largely we spend most of our time in the living room, where we catch up on each other’s day. We have an outdoor patio with a great view of the sky where we love to sit at night and watch the stars. In our neighboring town of Georgetown, they have lots of festivals in the town square that we attend with our friends and their kids.
Introducing Our Loving Families
Omar’s parents still play a big role in his life. He talks with them almost every single day. We are also very close with his two brothers, their spouses and children. Damian’s parents are deceased, so his chosen family is his close group of long-term friends, which we regularly Facetime with, as they live in other cities.
Our family is a blend of two cultures, and two very different family styles. While many of us live in different parts of the country, we all visit often and we are all one big family. Omar’s family is boisterous and full of large family gatherings. Damian’s family is more reserved, with smaller gatherings, but just as full of love.
Our family diversity helps us appreciate and value everyone, similar or different to us, which means your child will be loved no matter what!
Our Thoughts on Parenting
We have talked with many parents, and they all said the same thing, “Whatever you think you know, you don’t. When your child arrives, the learning really begins”. We take that advice to heart, and what we hope to pass onto our future child is our love of family, friends, and of all the things that bring them together. Cooking, music, holidays, birthdays, all of it!
Ultimately we hope to make sure your child knows that they are loved, and as long as they are treating others, and not hurting anyone that is okay for them to be whomever they choose to be. We will encourage them to succeed in whatever path they choose. We hope to give them the foundation to look at the choices in front of them, and understand both the consequences and benefits of both, so they can make choices for themselves.
In Closing- Thank You
We know the choice you are making is not an easy one. Once our future child is here, our whole life will change, but so will yours. We do not take that lightly. Your child will never feel like an ‘other’ in our household, they will be our world, our everything always and forever. And just as importantly, they will know their adoption story and how your love for them created our family. Even if you choose not to have any contact, you will always be a part of them…and we will make sure they know the gift they were given by you.
