You have challenging decisions to make, and I want you to know that I deeply respect your courage and love for your child. As I think about your choice to pursue adoption, I admire your strength and selflessness. Your child will grow up knowing that you love them.

Ever since I was a teenager, I have always wanted to become a parent through adoption. Now that I have completed my education, am a homeowner, and have a stable fulfilling career, I am ready and so excited to welcome a child into my life and home. As you read through my profile, I hope you can envision your child being raised in a loving home surrounded by a strong support system. I look forward to providing a warm, safe, and fun environment for your child to flourish and grow into a well-rounded, confident individual who will make a positive impact on the world. I have many happy memories of my childhood, and I look forward to sharing similar adventures with my future child to help them learn, develop, and experience the world.

I live in beautiful Eastern Washington where we are fortunate to experience the four seasons of the Pacific Northwest: spring bulbs and flowering trees, summer hot sunny days, fall changing leaves, and winter sparkling white snow.

I grew up in Boise, Idaho, where I was raised by loving, supportive parents. Some of my favorite childhood memories include biking on the greenbelt by the river, competing in swim meets, performing with an Irish Dance team, running track, family vacations, and playing with our many pets. My parents moved to Washington state while I was in college, so I chose to attend graduate school in a nearby Washington city which I am happy to still call home almost a decade later.

After completing my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I began working as a Speech Language Pathologist (“Speech Therapist”) who helps children and adults after they have experienced a stroke or brain injury; I still love this fulfilling profession and the great colleagues I work with every day.

In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, reading, baking, being outdoors while hiking/walking, spending time with family/friends, nature photography, and caring for my home.

While my parents currently live in a nearby town, they will be moving to my city and building their new home in the coming year. We get to see each other often. We enjoy hiking, cooking, checking out new restaurants, and home improvement projects. My mom and I are especially close and talk on the phone most days. My parents are very supportive of my plan to adopt as they know this has been a long-term dream of mine. They are also very excited to become grandparents again (my sister who lives in Colorado has a 5-year-old son). My mom, who has a master’s degree in early childhood education, will be helping me with childcare.

I am fortunate to have many long-term friendships and stay in touch with them even if they live in other states. I love to watch my friends’ kids so they can enjoy a date night. I’m so lucky that I get to work with my best friend Kari who lives only four blocks away from me. Her kids Melanie and Landon are my honorary niece and nephew. I love to spend time with them for movie/game nights, arts/crafts, holidays, and birthday parties.

I have great memories of extended family gatherings around the holidays with grandparents (listening to great stories), aunts (baking yeast rolls), uncles (playing card games), and cousins (watching family fireworks). My mom purchased a tree ornament for me each Christmas as I grew up; now that I have my own home, I have a collection of fun ornaments. I plan to continue many of these traditions with my future child. I’m excited to decorate my home and bake holiday favorites with my child; holidays are always even more fun with kids!

I live in Eastern Washington in a beautiful 3 bed/2 bath home which I bought new 7 years ago. Over the last few years, I have loved decorating my home to make it feel more like me with a splash of HGTV’s Joanna Gaines’ farmhouse style! I love sitting and reading in front of my gas fireplace; I look forward to reading bedtime stories with my future child in this cozy space. My kitchen is my favorite part of my home; I can’t wait to teach my future child to bake chocolate chip cookies.

I am fortunate to live in a safe, family-friendly community within walking distance of schools, parks (even a splash pad), walking paths, restaurants, and ice cream shops! The library, community swimming pool, and the hospital where I work are just a short drive away. After work, I love to visit my city’s botanical gardens to enjoy fresh air, gorgeous flowers, and an evening walk. This winter, the city hosted a drive-through winter lights display in the gardens; I hope this becomes an annual Christmas tradition.

After earning my master’s degree 8 years ago, I began my career as a Speech Language Pathologist (“Speech Therapist”). During graduate school, I began working at a community nursery for children aged 0-6 where we provided a safe and fun place for kids to spend time while their parents were working or receiving medical care. I learned how to provide excellent care for infants and young children which further prepared me to become a mom.

I am fortunate to work with many great therapists and am thankful that my job truly has a “family type” atmosphere. Additionally, I have taught undergraduate college classes and supervised many graduate students who are studying to become Speech Therapists.

I am so excited for the opportunity to become a parent! I can’t wait to introduce your child to many activities that made my childhood special.

I will always put your child first. I will set reasonable expectations and boundaries to make your child feel safe. My mom will be helping me with childcare so that your child will not need to go to daycare at all during their first year of life. Once they are toddler-age, they will attend a nationally accredited childcare center within walking distance of my home for only three days a week with my mom still helping with childcare one day a week.
