Hello! We are Emily & Benjamin from the San Francisco Area in California. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us. Whether you are considering us or another adoptive family, we truly wish the best for you and your child.

Parenthood has been a dream of ours for a long while. We want to grow a family based on unconditional love, unwavering support, and plenty of laughter. We hope that adoption will become an important way for all of us to forge a lifelong connection around the love of a child.

Emily was already working at a university in Israel when Benjamin arrived for his one-year internship. Little did he know that in the office next door was Emily, who would change his life. After a bird-watching trip with coworkers, we walked home together and that was the beginning of our relationship.

Just two months later we moved in together and two years after that, we got married in Paris surrounded by Benjamin’s family. We now are happily settled in California close to Emily’s family. Emily has found her passion teaching high school mathematics, and Benjamin enjoys working as a computer scientist for a company that builds surgical robots.

Together, we celebrate the mix of our cultures—American and French—and all of the places we have lived, including Texas, Massachusetts, Israel, and France. We enjoy traveling and want our future child to learn about new perspectives and new cultures with us.

I grew up in Paris, France. My parents, Etienne and Francoise, my grandmas, Grand-mere and Mamie, and my brother, Nathanael still live there. I have tight bonds with them and visit often, especially for Christmas. They also enjoy coming to California and staying with us.

From an early age, I was passionate about science and math in particular. I graduated with a math PhD and worked as a researcher. This allowed me to travel around the world and meet Emily! We moved to California almost three years ago, and I am now happy to be working as an engineer in a company building surgical robots.

I have always wanted to be a father. I know that I have so much love to give, and I want to help our future child grow. I am excited to share my hobbies and my passion for learning with our future child. I look forward to being very present in my child’s life. I am fortunate that my job has flexible hours and allows me to work from home.

Benjamin is very kind and loving. Relationships always come first for him, which means he is very forgiving. He accepts people just as they are, and as a teacher, I know firsthand that this quality will make him an excellent father.

Benjamin is very logical and loves to solve problems, but when he is facing a true challenge, he doesn’t have to find words or solutions. He can just be there through the process.

I look forward to sharing a child with him because he is grounded, our love is very strong, and we have more love to share.

I grew up in California but have lived in many places! During my math PhD, I lived in Austin, Texas. I did research in Israel and I taught at a boarding school near Boston. Now I am back near my hometown teaching at an all-girls high school.

What I love about teaching is building relationships with students. I might be a math teacher but the true joy lies in the time I spend with my students outside of class when we throw frisbees or gift each other funny drawings.

I want to become a mother because I know that I have unconditional love to give to our future child. I love being part of my students’ lives as they grow. That experience makes me feel full, and I know that loving my own child will fill me in new ways. I want to be present for my future child. I am grateful that, as a teacher, I will have plenty of time to spend with my family.

Emily is the most caring and empathetic person I know. After all these years, she still amazes me with how thoughtful she is. She is always giving and supporting and caring for the people around her.

Emily is incredible with children; it is like she can read their minds. Our friends’ toddlers are always excited to see her! It’s no wonder all of her high school students love her!

For these reasons, I know that Emily will be a wonderful and loving mother. I can’t wait to see her growing in this role (and she can’t wait either!).

We live in the heart of Silicon Valley in a family friendly neighborhood. Our swimming pool and the public library are a few blocks away. Our home opens onto the most popular park in the area! People drive from miles away so that their toddlers can enjoy the playground and their older children can play little league on the baseball diamond while they stroll under the redwood trees.

On the weekends we often take a short drive to go to San Francisco to visit friends, to hike in the mountains, or to watch sea otters and seals play on the beach. After stocking up on veggies from the nearby Farmer’s market, we like to cook together, usually French or Mediterranean dishes (especially when Benjamin is the chef!).

Most of our neighbors are our age and have young children who play together. We can’t wait to see our future kid joining the fun!

We are excited to be at a place in our lives where we are able to be fully present for our future child. After traveling the world, we are happily settled in our community. We are surrounded by loving family and supportive friends. We also have stable careers and active lifestyles.

We cherish our family and are lucky to have them with us. Emily’s parents, Jon and Doreen, live a few miles away. They always invite us for turkey on Thanksgiving and for a BBQ on the 4th of July. Emily’s brother, David, recently moved back to the US and is very excited to become an uncle.

Benjamin’s family lives in Paris, France and we video call them every weekend to share the latest family news and to swap recipes. We never miss an occasion to visit. In particular, for Christmas we all gather at Benjamin’s grandma’s place with his parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. Benjamin’s parents are retired and regularly come to stay with us. They are excited to come visit and play with their future grandchild!

Our friends are a second family. Even though they live all over the world, we remain close and stay connected. We enjoy going on vacations with them and their kids, whether to bike across Ireland or to spend a week in the snow. We can’t wait to share these adventures with our own children.

We hope you have a sense of who we are as a family and the home we want to build. We are fun and easy going, but above all we are kind and loving people who will raise your child with these values. Our home will be filled with warmth, earnesty, and happiness. We will provide a stable environment and a devoted community for them to feel safe, loved and confident. Most importantly we will give your child all the love and support.
