Hi, we’re Erin and Jay, and Milo from Pennsylvania. We are super excited you are looking at our profile! What an amazing adventure we have been on. Four years ago we were blessed to have adopted our son Milo, and we cannot wait to add another member to our tribe! We are so thankful for the strength, courage, and selflessness you demonstrate, and we commend you for considering adoption. We would like to tell you a little about us, in hopes that we may venture down this exciting path together!

Believe it or not, we met on a blind date! On our first date we spent hours talking with each other, and we knew right away we had found something special. From that point on, we were pretty much inseparable. We were engaged in less than a year, and then married less than a year after that. When it came time to start a family, it was clear early on that our path led us towards adoption. What an incredible adventure it has been! We adopted our son, Milo, in 2018. He is simply amazing and cannot wait to be a big brother!

Erin is the kindest, smartest and most genuine person I have ever met. Not to mention how naturally beautiful and funny she is. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world that she is my wife, and she is the person I get to raise a family with.

Erin has her Master’s degree and is a special education teacher. She often comes home glowing, with stories of a personal victory one of her students had. Now that we have a son, I’ve had the privilege of watching her teach, nurture and love him. I love to watch Erin in her element with our nieces and nephews when our families get together.

Being a teacher, she has her summers and holiday breaks off. Every holiday and every summer she sets out on a goal for her and Milo to accomplish; getting rid of the bottle, the pacifier, walking, talking, potty training and riding a bike. She does all of this while keeping our son excited, encouraged and confident as he goes through new developments and accomplishments. It’s so much fun to watch him discover the world, develop new interests, and try new things!

Watching Erin with our son the past four years has been the best part of my life so far. She is such an amazing mom! She is patient, nurturing, consistent and fun.

I was born in a super small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In my free time I love to spend time with my family and friends, and I’m always looking for a good book to read. I also love being outdoors. Jay, Milo, and I enjoy going for walks, spending time by the lake, sledding, and playing at the playground. My morning run through my neighborhood is my therapy. It gets me energized to start each day!

Jay is truly the funniest and most positive person I know. He is a carefree, practical joker who can make me laugh at the drop of a hat. I never know what he’ll do to me next! For instance, when I was returning a pair of shoes, the lady behind the counter opened the box and a banana was lying on top of the sneakers! When I told her that was my husband, we both had a good laugh! I cannot imagine going through life with anyone but him. Not only does he make life more fun, but he is also an incredibly hard worker. Jay is the first person to jump in and help when a friend or family member needs help. These qualities also make Jay a great business owner. I am so impressed with the growth and accomplishments he has made with his bakeware company. He makes me proud every day!

My favorite thing about Jay is the fact that he is a terrific father to Milo. He is patient, caring, affectionate, and fun! Jay is always building some kind of fort or car ramp with Milo. He even built him his own workbench right next to his in our garage! Simply put, Jay is an all-around amazing husband and father. He truly loves life, and I cannot wait to see him instill his free-spirited passion into the life of our new family member.

Jay and Milo have their favorite breakfast spot in town. They go every Sunday morning, and Milo is a favorite of the staff and other regulars. They all know him by name, and are ready for hugs when he walks in!

I was born and raised and still live in the same small town in Pennsylvania. Growing up, I can remember countless nights in the summer playing capture the flag or kick the can with my siblings and every kid in the neighborhood. In addition to playing with the neighborhood kids, I spent a lot of my spring and summers playing baseball… a lot of baseball.

Currently, I enjoy doing almost anything outside with Erin, Milo and Clark. As Milo gets a little bigger he is able to do some of the outdoor stuff we love like hiking and camping. He was a champ when he caught his first fish! He held it and everything! I love eating breakfast with Milo in the morning. We usually split a banana in our oatmeal and have deep conversations about all the things he’ll be able to do when he gets bigger. It’s the best way to start my day.

Erin: I have been working as an elementary special education teacher for 16 years, and I love my job! Each day is different, and it’s always an adventure. My days are filled with learning and laughter, and I couldn’t be more honored to have a profession that allows me to truly make a difference in the lives of children. Aside from these positive aspects of my job, the teaching profession also allows me to have summers and holidays off. In addition to that, I look forward to taking off five months once the baby is born. When I return to work, Jay and I are so blessed to have my sister and his mom care for Milo and the baby!

Jay: I have owned my own business for over seven years now, and although difficult at times, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Owning my own company allows me the flexibility to make my own hours, never miss a ballgame, art show or dance recital, and spend as much time as possible with my family.

In 2018 we adopted our son Milo, and our lives were forever changed. Parenting this kind, compassionate, and inquisitive soul has been the most amazing experience. Right now, he enjoys using tools to “fix” things, everything Star Wars, driving his car in the yard, riding his bike and scooter, and playing with his cousins. Tractor rides on Grandpop’s lawnmower are also at the top of his list! Milo will be an amazing big brother. He cannot wait to hold the baby and read stories to him or her!

Clark is our lovable golden retriever. He is named after the character Clark Griswold from The National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation movies and is such a gentle pup. Clark loves nothing more than belly rubs, treats, and family snuggles! Clark goes to work with Jay every day. He is the office mascot!

We fell in love with this home as soon as we saw it! It’s in a great neighborhood filled with kids who are always outside playing. We also love that it’s located about a mile from both of our parents’ homes, and is close to playgrounds, music and art classes, the library, sports fields, and our favorite old-fashioned ice cream shop!

Erin: I am the oldest of three girls to my parents who have been happily married for 41 years. My childhood is filled with so many wonderful memories. My dad would spend hours outside hitting me fly balls and pitching batting practice. My mom would dance around the house with my sisters and me while we belted out lyrics to our favorite songs. Our boogie-down parties continue to this day when we’re all together! Having two younger sisters is like having two built-in best friends. When the three of us are together, we always end up laughing so hard that we start crying! My youngest sister has three children who are Milo’s best friends. It brings me so much joy to watch them play and interact with each other!

Jay: I am the second oldest of four kids, and we all remain close to this day. We had such a great childhood, especially with each of us being only two years apart. Our house was the gathering house in the neighborhood, and my siblings and I shared our friends.

Somehow, despite having four kids with four different schedules, one or both of my parents were always at my games. That meant a lot to me, and means even more so now that I know how difficult that was.

My youngest brother has a daughter that is exactly one week younger than Milo. These two are going to be in school together from beginning to end. I cannot wait for the first choir recital!
