We are Isabella & Aaron and Skylar. We’re from beautiful Whidbey Island in Washington State. Thank you for taking time to learn about us as you make the difficult decision of who will raise your child. We want to give you a glimpse of the love we have for each other, our family and friends—and the kind of life your child could have with us.

First, we want you to know the respect and deep regard we feel for you. We can’t pretend to fully understand the depth of what you’re going through. Yet we already know you’re incredibly brave and full of love. Our hearts are with you as you continue this journey. We have always dreamed of having a couple of children so they grow up with siblings and have lots of fun and adventures together. We had always planned on using adoption as part of our family planning. When we started to build our family we discovered that adoption was the option closest to our hearts.

We adopted Skylar in 2017, from San Francisco, California. After settling in as parents, we wanted to start looking for our next child, but the pandemic disrupted our plans and took us on an adventure. Finally, we settled on beautiful Whidbey Island, where eagles soar overhead, and cute little bunnies hop around our yard. Now we’re excited to start the next adventure of expanding our family.

We’re excited to welcome another child into our family. We feel an incredible amount of love and gratitude for our work, our marriage, the people around us—for life itself. We cannot wait to deepen and expand our love with our next child, through adoption.

He’s a So-Cal boy who loves music and is the happiest drummer she’s ever seen on stage. She’s a Hong Kong + Singapore girl who pours her heart into everything she does with her limitless energy. You can say we did it the old-fashioned way. After a long courtship (Aaron in San Francisco, Isabella in Los Angeles), we got engaged before settling in San Francisco. We knew we wanted to adopt even before we married. Aaron’s long- time friend and best man at our wedding was adopted. So was Isabella’s uncle and great grandfather. Our life is not perfect by any means. We get gloomy days where our hearts ache and we want to shake our fists at the world. But we pull each other up and focus on the good in our lives—on what gives us joy, lights our souls, and makes our hearts sing. We know that our example will shape our children’s view of the world, and we want them to know that...

I love it when Aaron plays guitar before bed. It's a tenderness that I'll carry in my heart to my old age. I love seeing him as a dad, singing and playing music to our child, filling her with a magic that will stay with her all her life. And I absolutely love his warm, enveloping hugs–when he wraps his arms around me, I feel so safe, as if nothing in the world can get us, and we can do anything and everything! It's one of many reasons I refer to Aaron as our family's Chief Happiness Officer. He inspires our 6-year-old daughter Skylar to draw, sing, read, and never take no for an answer. Together, our family is an invincible team for whom anything is possible! I can’t wait to raise another child with Aaron by my side.

Isabella is the most loving and inspiring person I've ever met. She’s incredibly sweet, and lovingly protective of her friends and family. She creates joy and wonder in our child’s life, and motivates her creative side. She’s the family coach, always encouraging us to exercise and eat healthfully.

Isabella is the adventurous one of the family. She’s traveled all over the world for her documentary work sometimes in very challenging conditions. I love that she is a strong role model for our daughter and I know she will be wonderful mother to your child.

Skylar was adopted from San Francisco, California. She is a fun-loving, adventurous girl who loves to collect flowers and rocks, and give them as gifts to her friends and family. She will make such a great big sister to your child and they will have being adopted in common!

We live on magical Whidbey Island in Washington State. Whidbey Island is just north of Seattle and you take a car ferry to get here. We are renovating a large, picturesque lakeside home where we can go swimming or paddle boarding right from our back yard! Our home is surrounded by big, beautiful pine trees and has a nice patio for enjoying the summers outdoors. Hiking trails are only a 5-minute walk from our house. It’s the type of home where our friends want to come and stay with us for their summer vacations.

There is always lots of activities for kids nearby. Next door to our house is a public park where lots of other kids come to play around the lake. We are a short drive to the town of Langley which hosts music festivals, community theatre productions, and a dance studio that hosts the annual Nutcracker performance. We often go to Castle Park, a large playground with tons of slides, swings, and things to climb.

Aaron’s mom, Audrey, loves being a grandma. She and Amy, Aaron’s sister, are always driving up to visit and spend time with us. They are always here for holidays and birthdays and any other excuse they can find to visit. Isabella’s family is further away but we take turns visiting, so there are opportunities for our children to meet their extended family in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Paris. Of course, we video chat with the families to keep everyone close no matter the current ability to travel.

We have good friends here on Whidbey Island and in California. On Whidbey, we like hiking and berry picking with friends. Many of them are musicians, so we usually break out the instruments when hanging out. We also meet up for play dates with the kids at the ultimately fun Castle Park, that is filled with slides, tunnels, and swings. Our close friends from California are excited to come and visit us in the lake house when we can all enjoy the nice weather together. The lake is busy with swimmers, paddle boards, and small sailboats in addition to all the small children playing at the lakeshore.
