Hello from Seattle, Washington! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to learn more about us. We can’t begin to imagine what it’s like for you to go through this process, and we respect your bravery and strength.

We hope to give you a glimpse into our lives and who we are as a family. From the time we first met, we both shared a dream of adopting a child and we feel it’s something we are meant to do. As adoptive parents, we promise to love unconditionally and to be there for your child through all of life’s ups and downs.

We are ready and excited to become parents and we hope our paths lead to each other.

We first met on a dating website. Joy was living in Seattle, and Kathleen was living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Our relationship strengthened from a long-distance relationship, driving to visit each other with weekly visits back and forth between Canada and the USA. Every weekend we spent time exploring, and spending time with friends and family and getting to know each other better. We knew we wanted to live together long-term, so we started making plans for our future together. Kathleen finally made the jump to move down to Seattle to share a life with Joy and it feels like home now that we’re finally together in one place.

I was born in Victoria, BC and lived there for most of my life. My family and close friends still live there, and we visit them as much as we can. I have lived in the US for almost 3 years, and it has taken my heart. I am a Public Health Nurse and I am grateful to have had wonderful experiences working with families from newborns to seniors, from various cultures and backgrounds. My job also gives me lots of flexibility to take time off work or work part-time. Other things I love are to go on adventures with Joy and our dog, Fozzie, visiting local beaches and parks, and taking photos wherever we go. I am so excited to go on new adventures together as a family of 3!

Kathleen is kind, caring and always looks on the positive side of things. One thing I love about her is how supportive she is with both of our families. She took care of her nieces and nephews when they were younger, and even though they are older now, she is still available to lend an ear whenever they need someone to talk to. Kathleen has a great sense of humor and is always telling silly stories, and goofing around. Her personality lights up the room. I’m looking forward to building our family together!

I was born in Kansas, and when I was younger, I lived in Indiana, New York, and Alabama. I left Birmingham, Alabama, to join the tech industry in Seattle, Washington, and have now called the Pacific Northwest my home for 20 years. I’m a very amateur photographer who takes lots of pictures of our mischievous pup. I’m passionate about cooking, and I cook a variety of styles from Indian to American to various other cultural dishes. I also love my career in technology as a Senior Business Analysis Manager, and I’m so lucky to have a job I enjoy. I am able to work from home, so I will be there to help raise your child as much as I can. I am so excited to become a Dad and I know that Kathleen and I make a strong team.

I feel so grateful to have Joy as my husband. He is kind, supportive, a hard worker, and loves to goof around. He is a big kid at heart! Joy is so loyal and he always shows up for the people he cares about. He is such an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephew and is always happy to spend time with them. Joy is so excited to be a Dad and I can't wait to grow our family with him. I know 100% he will be there whenever myself or your child needs him. I know he will be an amazing Dad.

From the United States to Canada, we are so lucky to have family and friends that we adore. Together we share 12 nieces and nephews! Joy’s mom as well as his sister, Polly, and his nieces and nephew, Lyla (8) and twins Riya and Rivan (5) live in Illinois. We visit Joy’s family at least once a year, but we talk and video chat at least two times a week. We love doing magic tricks and playing “I Spy” on video and love taking the kids on adventures when we see each other in person. Kathleen has family and close friends in Victoria, BC. and we love going on road trips to Canada. All of Kathleen’s family live in Victoria and we get together for major holidays and have a large fun family gathering. Kathleen’s best friends (Tricia, Hannah and Vanessa) also live in Victoria, and they have been friends since kindergarten! Kathleen also has a big brother who lives in Japan!

We both love having a large family and it’s important to us to remain close to one another. We have many great friends locally as well, and everyone is excited to be honorary aunts and uncles! Both sides of the family are so excited for a new little one to join the family.

We live in a beautiful multicultural community just outside of Seattle. We have friendly and caring neighbors, and we are lucky to call them friends. We check in and share food with one another, and many friends and family members are close by if we ever need a helping hand. We live in a cozy house in a residential neighborhood filled with families and kids of all ages. We are close to the beach, forest and mountains and love being this close to outdoor adventures. Our favorite local activities are spending time at the beach, trying new local foods, and exploring hiking trails in the area, and we are excited for our future child to join us! We also have tons of parks close by, we even have a kids park next door! Our neighborhood has many great schools to choose from and lots of choices for activities for kids and teens. It’s quiet where we live, yet we live close to the town center if we ever need anything.

Meet Fozzie, our lovable and mischievous golden retriever. Fozzie (AKA Fozzie Bear) is just under 2 years old and is the sweetest and most hilarious pup. He is a foodie at heart, and he is the fastest shoe stealer in the West. He is always happy-go-lucky and just loves everything in life (especially puppuccinos!). We are confident he will make the most fun loving and loyal best friend to our new little one.
