Hello! We are Kris and Matt from Los Angeles, California. Thank you for getting to know us. We can only imagine how overwhelming this must feel and are so impressed with your amazing courage. We are very excited that you are considering us as adoptive parents to your child and are hopeful that you will feel a connection.
After many years together, we are choosing adoption to grow our family because we’ve always wanted to be parents and were unable to have children biologically. We hope you find comfort in knowing that we are ready to open our hearts and home to provide unconditional love to your child.
Even though we don’t know you yet, we know you are making a plan for your child out of selflessness and love. We can promise you that your child will be raised with unlimited love, compassion, and respect.
We met while filming a modern-day western movie on location in a small town in Eastern Texas. It was the summer of 2012 and the temperature was well over 100 degrees every day! Kris was the costume designer of the film and had one of the only air-conditioned trailers on location. Matt was a camera assistant and they noticed one another during lunch breaks when the whole crew would smush into her wardrobe trailer for relief from the heat. This immediate chemistry led us to spending time together away from work, exploring the region and getting to know each other. Upon wrapping up the film, we returned to Los Angeles and continued our courtship.
Once back in Los Angeles, our relationship moved quickly. By Christmas, Kris traveled with Matt to the Chicagoland area to meet his family and do a whirlwind Chicago pizza tour. Matt’s family is very serious about their pizza! Matt then met Kris’ family the following year when they returned to Kentucky to film commercials for the family car dealership and to attend Hillbilly Days. After living together for almost 5 years we officially married in 2017 and love to tell the story of how we met on a “hot” set.
As a couple, we enjoy attending live theatre, sushi dinner dates, hiking, and traveling. While traveling, we like to visit museums and historical landmarks, eat the native cuisine, and make friends with the locals we encounter. At home we relish watching classic movies and look forward to sharing our love of food and culture with our expanded family.
