We are Lesley, Matt, and Charlie from sunny San Diego, California! Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents to your child. This is a brave journey you are on. We appreciate you taking a closer look at who we are.

We can’t wait to welcome an amazing child into our lives. Our adoption journey started the day our son Charlie was born. During post-birth recovery, Lesley hemorrhaged and, to save her life, the doctor performed a partial hysterectomy. We’re thankful that our family is still intact, and we’re excited to bring a new child into this adventure that is our lives.

Enriching our family with another child is the most incredible blessing we could ever ask for.

Our relationship is built on love, respect, and adventure. Whether it’s backpacking through a foreign country, camping in the desert, or grabbing a coffee at a local spot, we love to experience things. As parents, we get immense joy from watching Charlie learn, grow, and explore. We are thankful to have this beautiful human in our lives. We spend a lot of time outdoors—at the beach, on bike rides, or in our backyard. We can’t wait to experience these things with another child, marveling at their growth and fostering their curiosity about the world!

I grew up in Palm Springs and the high desert (near Joshua Tree). I’m the oldest of five—my best childhood memories are trips to the Colorado River with my cousins and playing all day on Easter and Christmas.

There are so many qualities I love about Matt. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to create a stable and loving household for our children to thrive. I've never met a kinder soul, someone who puts the needs of others above his own. He looks out for me and shows me how much he cares. Like when we hike, he constantly reminds me to watch for snakes. Even though I say I'm watching for snakes, he still watches me because he knows I'm not watching!

Matt is also the most loyal, dedicated and hard-working person I know. After a full day of work and once Charlie goes to bed, he focuses on his writing. He has a deep passion for storytelling.

When it comes to serious matters, I turn to Matt for his insight and guidance on everything. I respect and admire his sharp intelligence, critical way of thinking, and perspective on things. He gives incredible advice!
Lastly, he’s a wonderful father to our son. I marvel at his dedication to Charlie and all he does to create a loving household full of warmth, acceptance, and good stories!

I work from home in student affairs at an online university. It’s a really cool job because I get to help people make their lives better and most of my co-workers have kids. We have an incredibly supportive work environment, and our leadership expects us to put family first.

I come from a close-knit, loving family and have wonderful memories of my childhood. I grew up in Saratoga, California, an hour south of San Francisco. My childhood was filled with hiking, fishing trips, family dinners, game nights, and holiday celebrations.

Lesley is the most caring person I have ever met in my life. She is unselfish, kind, and willing to help anybody who asks. I love her laugh and sense of humor—she is so willing to joke around, even in the worst of situations (like in a crazy traffic jam or on a 20-hour bus ride in Mexico with a Spanish-dubbed Will Ferrell film on endless repeat). Her greatest gift is her willingness to listen to others and to connect with anybody…no matter who they are, where they come from, or what language they speak. This lady has seen and done it all! She’ll never say no to exploring or trying something new.

As a mother, Lesley has shown tremendous courage and stamina. She would travel to the ends of the universe to protect and care for any child. It's not just that I’m thrilled to grow our family—I’m so blessed to have this woman love and care for our family. Charlie and I are the luckiest dudes in the world. I can’t wait to have another child with Lesley!

I’m a health educator at a university where I help develop programs on road safety issues, like DUI prevention. I work from home and have a typical schedule. Family is my priority and, luckily, my work is very supportive of this. I’m allowed to work alternative hours and I have a lot of paid time off to spend with the family.

We live in San Diego, 10 minutes from the beach. Our home is on a cul-de-sac in a diverse neighborhood with many families. There are five parks and playgrounds within walking distance from our home. We live in a 3-bedroom 2-bath house with a front and backyard and child-friendly landscaping with lots of plants and fruit trees, a trampoline and sand box. It’s not uncommon for our neighbors to gather on Sunday afternoons for happy hour. Our house is filled with books, art, and music. We even have a record player!

He’s a bright, sensitive, fun-loving boy with a determined will. He can’t wait to be a big brother and will absolutely adore his younger sibling. He is already thinking about how to protect his sibling, telling us that we can’t leave small things on the floor because “the baby could get it and eat it.”

We both value close relationships with friends and family and feel lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives.

Lesley’s Family - Lesley’s parents, Bill and Holly, live in Tucson. We visit them 4-5 times a year and have a blast soaking up the sun and swimming in the pool! They are loving people who welcome anyone into their home and love to entertain. Bill (retired from a career in marketing) is a master chef who loves to cook. Holly is a retired therapist who loves to stay connected with people.

Matt’s Family - Matt’s parents, Cindy and Bryant, live in a beautiful cabin in the mountains of Idaho. Matt’s dad is a retired firefighter. Matt’s mom raised five kids. Her greatest passion is her 11 grandkids. Both Cindy and Bryant are devoted parents/grandparents who value family relationships above anything else.

Friends - Our lives are filled with close friends, many that we have known since childhood. Charlie lovingly refers to these friends as his aunties and uncles.
