Hello! We are Lilly and Warris. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us. We share a welcoming home in Los Angeles with Boone and Echo, our lively rescue pups. We respect that your decisions come from a loving place and are in the best interests of your child. If you think we could be the right family for an open adoption, we’d be honored to meet you. We are sending our best wishes for the journey you’re on.
Dear Birth Mother...
Why We Are Adopting
We see beauty in creating a chosen family because our lives have been enriched by the diverse friend groups and community who surround and support us.
Even prior to our struggles with infertility, we had discussed adoption. We know our journey to becoming parents through adoption is possible because of the love you have for your child, and we are forever grateful.
Getting to Know Us
Serendipity worked its magic in 2014 when Warris moved from London to San Francisco, where Lilly happened to be vacationing. Sparks flew, ignited by Warris’s dry humor and Lilly’s sarcastic wit. We started strong and have been deeply bonded ever since.
After 6 years of marriage we share many hobbies. Most weekends you’ll find us working on our nature-filled home in Topanga Canyon. We regularly host friends and family in our cozy guest house.
Some of Our Favorite Pastimes Include...
- Hiking the canyon
- Taking Pilates classes
- Making pottery on our wheel
- And going to concerts
About Lilly, by Lilly
Hi! I'm Lilly! I grew up in a big Hispanic family in Miami, surrounded by diverse cultures and languages. My parents were both artistically talented and encouraged my love for color, composition and artistic expression from a young age. I’ve carried this passion throughout my creative hobbies and career.
Friends describe me as loyal, nurturing and sincere. You’ll usually find me crafting and creating in my home studio. I started sewing 5 years ago; I especially love making kid’s clothes, pet accessories and homewares.
About Lilly, by Warris
Lilly is unlike anyone I’ve ever met. She’s endlessly kind and creative. Her creativity comes out in everything she does. There are little touches she adds to our house every day that make it a warm and welcoming home. She loves buying paintings at thrift stores and adding our pups to them matching the same artistic style.
She’s loved by her family, colleagues at work and friends for all of these reasons. She’s also incredibly dedicated to anything she sets her mind to, she dives deep and commits with her whole heart. She’s loved by her family, work colleagues, and friends for all of these reasons and more. I know she will be an incredible mother and I cannot wait to be by her side as parents.
About Warris, by Warris
Hi! I'm Warris! Whether it's hiking in the hills behind our house or running in races, I love being active!
I'm a natural planner. I love researching and putting together a new experience for Lilly and me to enjoy, whether it’s a road trip to the desert, or a vacation to Iceland. I was raised in London, England, and had the fortune of being introduced to many different languages and cultures. From a young age I always had a desire to explore the world.
My endless curiosity has led me through a long education (which I loved), to becoming a doctor, and now pursuing a career of service to others. I’m still learning every day and enjoy solving hard problems that I think will help people.
About Warris, by Lilly
Warris has both a brilliant mind and silly sense of humor. His natural curiosity and polite manner means he easily connects with new people. Some of his longest lasting friendships began from conversations he started on plane rides and in supermarkets. I look forward to seeing that charisma reflected in our future child. He is passionate about caring for people from all walks of life. He’s used his experiences from being a doctor to start a new company focused on improving healthcare for those who are most in need.
Warris is a very active early bird who is always on the move. He cares deeply for animals – he even arranged for us to volunteer at a border collie sanctuary during our honeymoon! I am forever lucky to call him my partner.

Our Home & Community
We live in Topanga Canyon, a friendly community centered around nature and family life. We had outdoor patios built to help us enjoy mountain views and fresh air. Our town has great schools, a beautiful library, is close to the beach, and we have over 11,000 acres of national park right in our backyard. The local theatre and community center also host weekly family events.
We love that our community looks out for each other – trading delicious food and favors is common practice in our neighborhood. It’s typical to see local kids riding bikes together, swimming, and having little adventures in the state park. Everyone looks forward to the annual Topanga Days festival where our community dresses up, parades down our street and gathers to enjoy food and music together. Topanga is an idyllic place to grow up.
Our Furry Friends
Boone is our handsome 9 year old sweet-natured border collie rescue pup. He loves meeting new people! He was born deaf and we’ve trained him using sign language. Boone is the undefeated king of fetch.
Echo is our docile 6 year old Cattle Dog rescue who loves finding new places to take naps. After offering her paw to hold, she will immediately snuggle with everyone who pets her. They both love sunbathing and bird watching each morning in our backyard.
Meet Our Family
Lilly is the youngest in a family of five loud and fun-loving brothers and sisters. She is very bonded with her two nieces and loves encouraging their individual interests. Last spring, Lilly invited her niece, Delilah (Lilly’s mini me!), to San Diego for a week of surfing, theme parks, sea lions and her favorite arcade game, Dance Dance Revolution. Our younger niece, Valentina, is a science whiz. We ship her monthly kits full of experiments and robots. She loves to proudly Facetime us as soon as she’s completes each box.
Warris is the youngest of three children. His loving step-mother has dedicated the past 8 years to housing and caring for refugee teenagers in his family home. His sister, Maria, is a brilliant mother of two equally smart and funny siblings. They share many inside jokes, including a pink bunny they’ve passed through the family since Warris’s childhood. He looks forward to one day calling his sister for advice and clever parenting tips.
Our families have been so encouraging and supportive of our adoption journey. Everyone is eager to help us raise our future child!
Lessons We Will Teach Our Future Child
- We will be there forever, unconditionally
- Learn to put yourself in other peoples’ shoes
- Always lead with kindness
- Speak up for yourself and those who can’t speak up for themselves
Thoughts on Parenting
We value honesty, open communication and a “no judgment” approach to parenting and adoption. We vow to give your child well-rounded support while sharing our values such as:
- Stability - Knowing they will always have a loving and stable home with us is vital
- Knowing Oneself - Inspiring a child to explore and discover what makes them unique and fulfilled
- Guidance through uncertain times. Growing up in a changing world is tough, we commit to continue learning with them and supporting them as they grow into adulthood.
- Community - Fostering deep relationships with those around them
- Creativity - Being fearless in their expression. Understanding mistakes are part of learning
- Culture - Introducing them to different ethnicities and traditions in order to teach empathy and kindness
In Closing
The role you play in your child’s life is unique and irreplaceable. We cherish the opportunity to honor you in your child’s life, now and forever, in the way you feel most comfortable with.
Your child will always know the beautiful person you are and the incredible choices you made.
We promise your child will experience a life of nurturing, security, and a fun-filled environment to grow and thrive in.
Thank you for allowing us to share a peek into our lives. We understand this may be a period of uncertainty for you. We would be honored to be considered and wish you true peace in your journey to find the right family for your child.
