We’ve always wanted to be parents and raise kids together but have not been able to do naturally. We are thrilled to be taking this next step toward building our family through adoption.

As a biracial couple, each of us coming from blended backgrounds, we are very excited to be able to pass on diverse cultures, languages, traditions, and experiences to your child and help them achieve their dreams.

We went on our first date 10 years ago after matching on a dating website (before apps were a thing!). Our connection was instant and from that first date, we were pretty much inseparable. We found immediate comfort in each other’s company, would get lost in conversation for hours, and made each other laugh. We got engaged in 2014 and were so excited that we celebrated our union 4 times. We’ve been happily married for the last 8 years, got our home in Los Angeles 6 years ago, and are ready and excited to expand our family with a child.

Hi, I’m Gloria. I was born and raised in Peru by my Peruvian mother and Japanese father. Due to my father’s job, we relocated to Japan when I was 10 where I learned more about my Japanese roots and immersed myself into the culture and language. It was at this young age that I became passionate about learning and embracing different cultures. When I was 21, I moved to the United States with my parents. I worked part-time and paid my way through college. I graduated from UCLA (go Bruins!) and began my career in HR. Currently, I work as a HR generalist for a Japanese tech company, as well as a sales rep for a Japanese lifestyle retail store. These 2 jobs offer unique experiences and variety to my day to day that I enjoy. I also have flexibility in my schedule as I can work from home and adjust work hours when needed.

Gloria is caring and empathetic with a dose of wit and humor. She is my safe haven. She has the ability to comfort and make my anxiety and stresses disappear with her presence. I also love how passionate she is about her culture and pushing me to try and discover new things, keeping life exciting every day. She exudes a certain energy that attracts people to her, especially kids. Whenever we're around children - whether our nieces and nephew or friend's children - they naturally surround her. She is seen as the cool aunt and I am 100% confident she will be an even cooler mom. She brings a healthy balance of fun and protection. I know our child will be very well cared for and loved unconditionally.

Hi, I’m Mathias. I was born into a very small town in the south of France. I grew up around fields, farms, and animals. My dad is from Algeria and my mom is French, so I grew up in a bi cultural household. My parents divorced when I was 7 and I was mostly raised by my mother, who continues to be my rock today. I've always respected mothers and the love and sacrifices they make for their children.

Drawing, video games, movies, and computers have always been a passion for me and became the main driving force for my move to the United States in 2007. I started my career in visual effects in the US and am currently a computer graphics supervisor at a studio in Los Angeles. I am grateful to have a job doing what I love and for the opportunities afforded along the way, from working on commercials to supervising shows for Netflix. I also have flexibility in my schedule as I work from home primarily.

Mathias is a very caring, sweet, compassionate person. I admire how sensitive he is; he is not afraid to shed a tear and express his emotions. I find his openness and confidence in expressing his feelings beautiful. Since I first met him, I’ve always felt very safe and secured in being my full self around him. I can ask him to dye my gray hairs or pluck a stray eyebrow and know he will love me just as much. I know this is the type of unconditional love he will give our child. When I see him around my niece and nephew, I see how they confide in him and trust his views and opinions. Seeing them interact, laugh, and joke with each other brings me even more confidence that he’ll be an amazing father and I’m very excited to start this journey with him.

We live in the West side of Los Angeles, California. We love this area of town, because it's close to the beach, parks, local restaurants/coffee shops, farmer's market - all within walking distance. We're also close to hiking and bike paths, many beautiful places to explore. It is a very safe neighborhood; there are many families with young children who enjoy strolling around and hanging out at the parks. We live in a sunny and spacious two bedroom + loft townhouse in a gated, quiet building. The open floor plan allows us to spend time together while cooking, watching TV, and/or entertaining. We really enjoy living here and cannot wait to fill it with memories with our child growing up here.

Our families have diverse roots from different continents. Gloria grew up in Peru living in a house with 15 relatives! Her direct family is now based in Los Angeles, and we enjoy the convenience of having them less than 20 minutes away. Gloria is very close with her family and we never miss lunch with them every Sunday. Gloria also has family in San Diego and back in Japan and Peru, who she stays in close contact with, including her cousins and 103-year-old grandmother. One of her fondest memories was celebrating her grandma's 100th birthday in Peru.

We see Mathias' family at least once a year. Mathias takes advantage of this time to talk to his mom about our adoption journey, given her own experiences as a midwife and social worker. We also see his brother and his family who live in New York a few times a year. Even though Mathias and his brother have an 11 year age gap, they are very close, and Mathias is also a devoted uncle to his brother's 2 daughters and recently celebrated one of their bat mitzvah in New York.
