We are Matt & Adria and we live in San Diego, California. We love creating family traditions, and having game nights with our neighbors. We also enjoy traveling and having giant family dinners. We are both close with our immediate families and want to make sure that you have the opportunity to be involved in your child’s life if that is what you would like. The more people in the child’s life that love and support them will help create a happy child.

We always considered adoption as an option for growing our family. We tried to create a biological family, but it was very difficult on Adria’s body. There were other options we could have pursued to create a family, but those options really made us take a look at the way we view the world. After agreeing those other routes weren’t for us we started the process to adopt. We know that as birth parents you are on a journey that is complex and dynamic, and fraught with emotion. It is our job as potential adoptive parents to be as open with you as possible and we are willing to try and answer all questions you might have. We met the traditional way... on an online dating app. Yes, we love a little humor and sarcasm in our lives. Our marriage is built on mutual respect and support. We dated for four years prior to getting married and during that time we took steps to better understand each other. We were married in September of 2020 and realized just how strong our marriage was after spending so much time together due to COVID. We both love what we do for a living and are able to enjoy a life full of activities together. We are so excited to share the world with our future child through different cultural and travel experiences.

I am a positive, loving, caring, and supportive person that takes the time to reach out to others. Growing up I was fortunate to have a happy and stable home. Adria and I are so grateful for the opportunity to be able to provide your child with a happy, healthy, and positive life with us.

I have always loved working with computers and I am lucky to do what I love as a software engineer. As an engineer I get to be creative and as a father I look forward to tapping into my creative side by building Legos and creating fun camping trips.

I enjoy attending our niece’s softball games and cheering on our nephews at their baseball and soccer games. Becoming a parent is an exciting endeavor and I look forward to supporting our future child’s hobbies and activities, whatever they might be.

I immediately fell in love with Matt’s positive personality. He is hands down one of the most positive people I have ever met.

When we first met I didn’t know someone could be as positive as he was and it was infectious. It is not uncommon to hear him exclaim that “Today is the best day of my life!” The funny thing is when he says that it is genuine and not a ploy or overly sappy. Believe me, it is oddly heartfelt and sincere and that is special.

Matt is also a man that enjoys not only working but also enjoys being outdoors. Wherever he is he can make friends and connect with people he's never met. I feel like out of the two of us he is more extroverted than I and it helps me in a lot of social situations because he puts me at ease.

Although Matt didn’t have a lot of experience with children in the beginning of our relationship, he has quickly become a favorite uncle who attends our niece’s and nephews’ various sporting and school functions. I know he will be a great father because of his ease in handling life’s challenges and his optimism towards life.

I am a goal oriented and fun-loving person. I like to plan and I affectionately named myself “the planner in residence”. I am excited to be a parent. I am the “Auntie” to one niece and two nephews which I adore. I also have a family friend who is like “my oldest sister” and she has two amazing children which I have loved watching grow up.

I grew up in an amazing family with supportive parents. I’m excited to be able to provide a life for our future child where they will feel loved and supported every single day. I cannot wait to become a parent alongside Matt.

My wife is amazing and will make an incredible mother. I have watched her be an exceptional aunt and she is a wonderful “auntie” to her friend’s children.

One of her best character strengths is her ability to plan and stick to a goal. Adria is great at planning fun family vacations, dinners, and getting people together for a good time. I know she cannot wait to be the classroom parent volunteer and looks forward to planning fulfilling life experiences for our family.

Adria is also an extremely passionate and empathetic person. I have seen multiple occasions where she reaches out to her friends and family when she hears they are going through a difficult time and she continues to reach out after “life has become normal”.

Her love and compassion can also be seen in how she cares for her horses and our dogs. She is the best “animal” mom in the world.

We have a lot of hobbies we enjoy together. Biking around our community and hiking in our local mountains are two hobbies we do regularly. During the wintertime we love skiing and make a point to get to the Utah mountains as much as possible. We also enjoy camping and taking trips to various National Parks.

When we have guests in town, we love going to the museums and being tourists in our hometown. Both of us are huge animal lovers and we are members of the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Safari Park.

Adria rides and shows her horses competitively, which creates a lot of opportunities to travel throughout the states. Matt is a wonderful cook and enjoys preparing meals in our home. Both of us work out as much as we can in order to stay healthy. Of course, we love walking with our dogs and enjoy a lazy Sunday by one of our community pools.

We absolutely love where we live and we can’t wait for our future child to grow up here! We live in a single home family in a community that has grown a lot over the last ten years. Our home is a ten minute walk to the local public elementary school. During the school year we can hear the assemblies and the school bell. We have fantastic neighbors, and they have children as well. Our neighbors are so great we even have vacationed with them over the years.

The community itself is lined with lush trees and lighted sidewalks. Our community is diverse and the majority of residents are families. We have 15 parks with playgrounds within 2 miles of our home.

Our community is also in one of the best public school systems in the state of California, and all the schools we can easily walk to; including the high school! Due to the high rating of our school systems we have an influx of families every year that try and move into our neighborhood.

These are our two dogs Kupa (the black and white brindle) and Sammy (the blonde). Kupa and Sammy are extremely love-able dogs and enjoy being cuddled.

One of our favorite traditions is on Halloween we get together with Adria’s family and our neighbors outside our home and throw a sidewalk “party” for the trick-or-treaters. This includes candy, a popcorn machine, apple cider, and toys. We love this tradition because we actually get to talk to our other neighbors and we get to see the kids growing up.

We are lucky to have great family members on both Adria’s and Matt’s side. Adria’s mother, father, and sister’s family all live within forty-five minutes of our home and we see them all regularly. Adria’s sister’s family is made up of her sister, brother-in-law, niece and two nephews. Both of Adria’s parents have loved being grandparents and are excited about another grandchild in the family.

Matt's family lives in Florida and we travel out there to see them once a year and they try and travel out here to California to see us once a year. Matt's family consists of his mother and his brother and sister-in-law. Matt's brother and sister-in-law can't wait to have a niece or nephew to adore and his mother is excited about becoming a first time grandparent.

We are very fortunate to have a wonderful support system that consists of friends that are excited for our adoption journey.

We believe in acceptance and belonging. We will make sure that no matter what, our future child will know their adoption story and their heritage. Our goal is to create a home that honors where they came from, where they are at the present, and where they will be in the future. Our family, friends, and community will be a positive and educational part of your child’s life.

We believe in honest communication and this translates into our parenting style. As adoptive parents, we promise to give our future child the tools to be successful: a wonderful education, and the support to allow them to chase their dreams and goals.

We are here to guide them; not to try make them into something/someone they are not.
We look forward to providing life experiences so when they venture out on their own they will feel confident in their own decisions. And we hope through sharing our love of family, no matter how it’s created, they too will value family as they grow up.

Our goal is to raise a healthy, independent child that feels loved and supported no matter what, and we will strive every day to make sure we are accomplishing that goal.

We understand considering an adoption plan is not one you have taken lightly. We too have taken much time in considering adoption as a path to start our family. We want you to know how much love and support we will give your child. We are committed to working on our relationship with you so that they will always get answers to any questions they may have about themselves, about their biological family, or their adoption story. We truly believe that in choosing adoption for your child, and in choosing us as adoptive parents, they will aways and forever be surrounded by unconditional love and support.
