We are Mike & Tim from Santa Monica, California. Words can't express our gratitude for you choosing to consider us as potential parents for your child. We understand that you are making an incredibly important decision, and we are so grateful to have the opportunity to share a little bit about our family with you.

Starting soon after we first met, we began imagining a future together that included being parents and adoption just felt right to us. We have now been together for over 10 years, got married in 2018, and have built a stable and happy life for ourselves. The only piece missing has been that of a child to share life’s great journey together. We cannot begin to understand the courageous decision you are making, but we are filled with gratitude and will dedicate our lives to creating the best life for your child. We would be honored if you would allow us to go on this journey with you.

We met through a dating app in April 2012. When we first started dating, we enjoyed exploring Los Angeles together, going out to eat in different neighborhoods, and attending sporting events and concerts. We went to a Dodgers baseball game for our second date, and that experience remains one of our favorite memories together. We also like to explore different parts of the world through vacations, and take spontaneous weekend road trips in California.

In 2017, we went on Mike’s first international vacation to Italy. We had an amazing time exploring the country and this is where Mike proposed to Tim! We got married in Cancun, Mexico in 2018 surrounded by our friends and family.

We are both very close with our large families, spending holidays with our family. Tim has a beautiful extended family that understands the joys of adoption. Mike’s sister has 2 kids and we see them a few times a year. Tim’s adopted sister, Hillary, has 4 kids and we are the “Fun Uncles”, we are grateful to be part of their lives. Being around our nephews and nieces makes us so happy and we can’t wait to feel that joy everyday with our own child.

I was born and raised in New Jersey. I am the youngest of three siblings, and I have been close with my older brother and sister for my entire life. I spent a lot of time as a kid playing sports, especially soccer and basketball, and I was also motivated to do well in school. After high school, I went to college at Rutgers University in New Jersey. I knew I wanted to make a big change after college, so I decided to apply to several law schools in California and hopefully end up on the West Coast. I ultimately attended the University of Southern California and obtained my law degree in 2008. My current role offers me a wonderful work-life balance and I’m grateful that I get to work from home four days a week. If Tim and I are lucky enough to be blessed with a baby, I will only have to work part-time.

Mike is going to be the best dad! He is gentle, loving, and will always be supportive. I know that Mike will encourage our future child to find their passion in life. He is special to me because we are such an amazing team and we will always be supportive for one another as we raise our future child together. I know Mike will be an engaged and present dad every day. I feel so lucky to build our family with him.

I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I spent my school years in Arizona with my mom, stepdad and little brother. I spent summers with my dad and stepmom, fishing, camping and hiking in Alaska! I attended Arizona State University, where I studied Political Science. After college I spent a couple of years exploring the world, from hiking in South America, couch surfing in Germany to bartending a lodge in Yellowstone National Park. After exploring, I moved out to California in 2011 and met Mike in 2012! Since moving to California I have worked on campaigns and public policy. I now work at Amazon where I focus on last mile sustainable delivery public policy in the US.

Like Mike, I also work from home and have a very light and flexible schedule which will allow me to spend time with our family. We are both grateful to be fully remote workers, which will allow us to spend quality time with our child and show them around the world.

Tim is going to be a wonderful father. He is kind, reliable, and trustworthy, and I know he will be a great role model for our future child. On top of that, Tim is a big kid at heart, and he loves to have fun. Tim is a super supportive uncle to our 8 nephews and nieces and they are all so happy when they are with him. He will be that fun dad in the neighborhood that all the kids like to be around. I know our child will have a blast growing up with Tim!

We have a large supportive network of family and friends who are all very excited to be part of our journey. We have family here in California and all around the US, such as Alaska, New Jersey, Florida, and New York. We have built a supportive 2nd family here in LA with all our friends who are all very excited that we are adopting. We will have no shortage of fun loving LA aunts and uncles. Our close friend Sally recently has two children and is excited for us to grow our family soon, play dates!

We are very close with Mike’s sister, Melanie, who lives in New Jersey. We have a tradition of seeing each as often as possible, Spring Breaks, and of course holidays. Family annual vacations have recently become a new tradition.

Our family and friends are super supportive and very excited to be part of our journey!

Every year we head back East to spend 2 weeks with family during Christmas break. We spend our time goofing around with our nieces and nephews, bowling, playing, and baking lots of cookies!

We live in sunny Santa Monica, California. We live in a very walkable community; we take the car out of the garage maybe once a month. We are walking distance to the beach, local shops, parks, schools and restaurants. We have a beautiful park that overlooks the Pacific Ocean just a 10 minute walk from our front door. Our neighborhood is the best of both worlds, a small neighborhood vibe with the best rated schools and a friendly community atmosphere, but just minutes away from the Santa Monica Pier, performing arts centers and museums. We often see families riding their bikes or walking to the local schools around us every morning. We love our neighborhood and it will be an amazing place to raise our future child!
