We have always felt strongly that adoption was our path to complete our family. With Naomi being adopted as a baby, we have always known a family is who you make it, not biology. We look forward to raising our child in a home of love, laughter and support.
With a little encouragement from Naomi's best friend, she looked for love and found it in Adam. From our first date we know we were meant to be. From then on we found out life was so much better together. One day Adam took Naomi and her parents for a sightseeing trip that ended at the site of their first date, where Adam proposed.
We love to travel to new places, enjoy the arts and spend time with our 2 rescued dogs Luna and Muffin. We're both avid readers and love to learn and grow. We try to spend as much time as possible with our close family. The holidays are always full of family, love and laughter.
I was adopted as an infant from South Korea by a loving family with 2 biological sons who I am blessed enough to call my big brothers.
After graduating from high school I attended the University of Washington where I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts.
My mother instilled in me a love of traveling and exploring new places, and I was fortunate enough to share many of these experiences with her. My first overseas trip to Seoul Korea, a huge family trip to Europe, and a fun filled week in New York City.
On Being Adopted: Even though I was the only adopted child in my family, I never felt any less loved and supported than my brothers. It brought with it a unique perspective of what it means to grow up as an adoptee and I am honored to be able to pass that love and support on to my future child.
I grew up in Portland, Oregon surrounded by my many aunts and uncles. After graduating high school with honors I joined the U.S. Marine Corps where I served in Southern California.
I have always been about enjoying life, usually involving cars just like my dad. I enjoy building things with my hands and taking care of those I love. This has led me to building sports cars, lifted trucks, and most recently riding motorcycles. Through my love of motorcycles I joined the charity Guardians of the Children, a non-profit that helps children who have been abused.
When we have a child I can't wait to experience all the love and joy they bring. To grow with them and encourage them to be their best and to always be the strong, confident self that they are.
We live in a nice suburban neighborhood. Our home is located between 2 elementary schools where the kids are safe to play. During the spring and summer we enjoy light gardening, mowing the lawn and barbecuing. We have a large fenced backyard where our dogs love to roam and play.
Living in the Pacific Northwest we are fortunate to experience all 4 seasons where the winters are mild and the summers are warm and sunny without being too extreme. With mountains and oceans all around us there's no shortage of places to explore.
Adam is looking forward to building an awesome playset where creativity can run rampant for our kiddo!
We are a family of dog lovers! Our current dogs are both rescues, a Boston Terrier named Luna and a Chihuahua mix named Muffin. We want only the best for them so they enjoy homemade breakfast & dinner, with treats in between. Luna is a tank of a dog who loves a good lap time snore while Muffin is a hyper snuggler who loves all the attention you can give her. We love them as members of our family and they'll make great companions to your child.
Naomi has 2 older brothers with 5 younger kids between them and their grandma Kathy is very involved in her grandchildren's lives. She does her best to get all the cousins together at once as often as possible so they all grow up together with fun memories spent at the farm and with their grandma and grandpa. The holidays are big with family gatherings and a big family dinner. Be it going to the local hockey game or zip lining or the children's museum, we stay as close as possible and try to laugh every chance we get.
With Adam's family being in Oregon we don't get to see them as much, but we stay close with regular visits and phone calls. Time together as a family is one of the things we cherish the most. Our closest friends are excited to become honorary aunts and uncles!
We will instill a strong sense of reading and growth of the mind while being socially and financially responsible.
Through Adam's extensive library and Naomi's college teachings, your child will grow up to be wonderful members of society who will do their best to treat others with compassion and dignity.
