Hello! We are Jordan & Pat from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are so excited about the opportunity to grow our family through adoption. Becoming parents has been a dream of ours for years, and we’re ready to provide a home filled with love, support, joy, and laughter. We can’t wait to explore the world through your child’s eyes, share our favorite traditions, and create new ones together. Thank you for learning more about us. We hope our story gives you a sense of who we are and the kind of parents we hope to be.
Dear Birth Mother
Why Adoption
Since the beginning of our relationship, we’ve dreamed of becoming parents and creating a warm, caring family. We couldn’t be more excited about adoption and the chance to provide a safe, nurturing, and welcoming home for a child. Adoption is a true gift, and we’re deeply honored to be on this journey. We look forward to sharing our lives, values, and unconditional support with our future child.
Our Story
Our story began in 2012 when we were both living in the Washington, DC area. After meeting on match.com, we had a coffee date at a cafe where Pat was taking a break from studying for his medical school entrance exam. We’ve been together ever since, moving to Virginia and later Pennsylvania, and getting married in August 2022 in a botanical garden just a short walking distance from our house. With roots now firmly planted in Pittsburgh, we're ready to grow our family. Our home is filled with love, kindness, and a strong sense of togetherness.
About Jordan
Growing up as the youngest of three in a close family, I was lucky to have parents who encouraged creativity and individuality. They taught me the importance of empathy, communication, and making time for the people you love—values I’ll pass on as a parent. I’m naturally curious and love learning new things, which has shaped both my career and hobbies. As a software engineer working from home with flexible hours, I can shape my schedule around the needs of a growing family. Outside of work, I’m often cooking or baking in the kitchen, diving into a home project, or catching up with family. What excites me most about parenting is sharing in the little moments—helping a child discover their interests, cheering them on as they grow, and building a home filled with love, laughter, and creativity. Pat and I have built a great life together over the past twelve years, and I can’t wait for us to welcome a child into it.
More About Jordan, by Pat
Jordan is the most patient, kind-hearted, intelligent, and thoughtful person I know. His nurturing nature shines in the way he cares for others, always approaching relationships with kindness and empathy. He’s a great listener and makes people feel seen and supported. As an uncle, he goes above and beyond for his nieces and nephews, building strong, meaningful connections with them. In addition to visiting his family in Michigan several times a year, he sends each of them personalized gift boxes for their birthdays and holidays, ensuring they always feel special and loved. Jordan is the steady and organized presence that keeps our marriage grounded while also filling our home with warmth and humor. He is someone who takes joy in the little things, from planning a thoughtful meal to helping a friend in need, and I know these same qualities will make him an incredible father.

About Pat
I grew up in a close-knit family near Reading, Pennsylvania, with my parents, an older brother, and a younger sister. My family fostered my curiosity and taught me the importance of giving back to others. My friends would describe me as caring, fun-loving, and driven. As a psychiatrist, I specialize in supporting patients facing significant medical challenges, particularly Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. My role comes with generous family leave and predictable hours, ensuring I can prioritize time with my family— especially during life’s most important moments. Becoming a father has always been a dream of mine because I believe there’s no greater joy than helping a child grow, supporting their discoveries, and sharing in life’s milestones. I'm deeply grateful for the love and support my family has always given me, and I look forward to creating that same kind of nurturing, supportive home for your child.
More About Pat, by Jordan
Pat is one of the most thoughtful people I’ve ever met, and I’m so lucky to call him my husband. We met over a decade ago and have been by each other’s sides through medical school, career changes, multiple moves, and everything in between. No matter what’s going on, Pat has this incredible ability to stay focused and grounded. One of my favorite things about Pat is how naturally he connects with kids. When we visit family, he’s the uncle who gets down on the floor to play, sets up outdoor obstacle courses, or plays the evil villain in our nephews’ latest homemade superhero movie. Our nieces and nephews adore him, and it’s easy to see why. I know Pat is going to be an amazing dad. Watching him with the kids in our life, I can already picture him reading bedtime stories, cheering from the sidelines, and being a steady, loving presence every step of the way.

Hobbies and Interests
Jordan is a talented home chef who loves experimenting with new recipes and perfecting old favorites like homemade pizza or pasta every Tuesday. He’s also a Titanic history buff, consumer electronics aficionado, hobbyist photographer, and enjoys performing sleight- of-hand as an amateur magician—a hobby that always brings laughter and amazement at gatherings. Pat is an avid reader who enjoys everything from short stories to history. He loves working in the backyard throughout the year, planting, weeding, and mowing. He also prioritizes fitness, whether it’s a run through the park or working out at the local community center. We share a love for exploring the beauty of nature and revisiting meaningful places, like the local botanical gardens near our house where we were married. Weekends are often filled with quality time spent with friends, board games, or enjoying live theater and music performances in the city. We also love opening our home to others, whether it’s for casual dinners or larger gatherings. One of our favorite traditions is hosting an annual holiday open house, where neighbors, coworkers, family, and friends come together to celebrate the season in a festive atmosphere. It’s a highlight of our year and a reflection of how much we value building community and creating lasting memories.
Our Home
Our home is on a quiet cul-de-sac in Squirrel Hill, a vibrant and welcoming neighborhood in Pittsburgh known for its multicultural atmosphere and strong sense of community. Our home is welcoming and spacious, with plenty of room to play either inside the playroom or outside in the backyard. We’re fortunate to live just a block away from Schenley Park, a 450-acre oasis in the city with walking trails, playgrounds, and plenty of open spaces to explore and enjoy nature. Our home is also within walking distance of many wonderful amenities, including a community center with activities for all ages, a well-stocked library perfect for quiet afternoons, a historic movie theater, and a variety of restaurants featuring cuisines from around the world. Squirrel Hill offers the perfect balance of city amenities and small-town warmth, and we’re excited to share this enriching environment with a child—whether it’s exploring the park, attending story time at the library, or enjoying community events.
Our Cat, Sam
Our cat, Sam, started out as a stray who showed up at Jordan's brother's house during one of our visits. Jordan's nephews named him Sam and begged us take him home since they couldn’t Sam and... keep another cat. Jordan’s brother, a veterinarian, gave Sam a check-up and vaccines before we brought him home. Sam made the trip back to Pittsburgh with us and has settled into indoor life. He spends a lot of time watching birds, squirrels, and the occasional deer from the windows.
Our Loved Ones
Our extended family and friends are a lively, supportive, and loving group that brings so much joy and connection to our lives. They have been very supportive of us as we explored building our family and would love to welcome another child into the family. We frequently visit Jordan’s family in Michigan, including his parents, two siblings, and five nieces and nephews. His family is extremely close— with his brother, father, and sister-in-law working together in his father’s veterinary practice. Pat’s family is on the east side of Pennsylvania. Pat remains close with his parents and siblings, who collectively have three children of their own. We enjoy playing with them when we visit several times per year and staying in touch on FaceTime when we cannot. We are also fortunate to have a wonderful group of close friends in Pittsburgh, many of whom have children of their own. We know they will play an important role in creating a nurturing and connected environment for our child to grow up in.

Their marriage is a strong and stable foundation, ideal for nurturing a child.
