Hello! We are Patrick, Bobbie Jo & Asher from Irvine, California. Just like the classic sandwich, we fit together like PB & J. This is the tale of our lives together from the improbable story of how we met, fell in love, and adopted a child of our own. If you decide to match with us it will be a huge honor for our family as well as give Asher the gift of being a big brother. Thank you for your strength, courage, and kindness for choosing adoption we are truly lucky for the opportunity to raise a child. We just feel fortunate to be considered for adoption again and will give all our family's love and attention to this child.
Dear Birth Mother...
Why We Are Adopting
We have wanted to be parents for as long as we can remember. Unfortunately due to a history of cancer (Bobbie Jo has been in remission since 2008) becoming a parent was put on hold for a while. We love being around kids and how they keep us young. We can't wait to jump back in the adoption process and get to meet more amazing birth mothers like yourself.
Getting to Know Us
We met in the unlikeliest place, in organ and tissue donation in Los Angeles. Patrick drew Bobbie Jo’s attention with his sultry voice singing “All the Single Ladies” as he entered the call center. We were inseparable, touring the town of Los Angeles and all of its tasty food and great entertainment. After eight grand years of dating we finally tied the knot in Pismo Beach, California where we had more on lookers than people attending our wedding.
Three years ago, we were blessed being able to adopt a baby boy named Asher who has been the love of our life. We go on adventures together to the beach, local neighborhood pools, and frequent stops at Yogurtland after walking around our local lake.
Fun Facts About Us
For the last decade we have been beekeeping together, we currently have one hive at our friend's place in Pasadena. Though it took many years of persistence we are finally good enough to get honey out of our hive. We love the patience, time, and care that it takes to create the honey and the wild differences in the flavors and aromas from year to year.
We love gardening together as well. Every year we always buy too many plants than our space can handle. Our local university has exotic options when it comes to peppers, tomatoes, spices, and herbs. Nothing beats homemade spaghetti sauce or spicy salsa.
Bobbie Jo likes to do digital photography ever since her time in Montana she enjoys capturing moments of her surroundings from raging rivers, beach cruisers in the sand, to surfboards in Hawaii.
Meet Bobbie Jo, by Bobbie Jo
Being a mom and having a family has been the greatest joy of my life. Learning, growing and living through the eyes of our child is something wonderful. My husband and son are the world to me, and I can't wait to become a mother again. I am currently a nurse and practice manager for a health system. My job allows me flexibility in being able to drop Asher off and/or pick him up as well as attend his school events. I enjoy what I do, but the best part of each day is being with my family.
About Bobbie Jo, by Patrick
Bobbie Jo wears her heart on her sleeve. She cares BIG about her friends, family, and loved ones as well as strangers she just meets or people in need. She loves unconditionally and always lets her big fat heart lead the way. She works in health care where she can continue to give her time and energy to people needing care and support. Her favorite place to work is in Pediatrics where she loves the interaction with kids and to make them laugh, often times it’s hard to tell who’s having more fun. Bobbie Jo has moved all over the United States from Montana to Arizona and back, she also has a billion school degrees (Masseuse, English, Nursing, Psychology) making her quite the Renaissance woman. She is an overachiever by nature doing every sport, club, and activity even underwater basket weaving! It’s safe to say she doesn’t shy away from anything. She is a great parent because of her empathy, kindness, willingness to do anything, unwavering resolve, and belief in people. She will teach our children emotional intelligence and the power of internal strength. She is the strongest woman I know and that will resonate with our child.
Meet Patrick, by Patrick
I'm so thankful to be given the chance to become a father again and it has been the best experience of my life. Being able to join in on the highs and the lows of being a parent and helping raise a family with people that I love has been the greatest gift given to me. I currently work as an Engineer in Biotech making biodegradable plastics that can replace oil based plastics. Working in Biotech is fun but what I really enjoy is picking up Asher every day from school and finding out what he wants next from driving his motorized trash truck to biking around the neighborhood.
About Patrick, by Bobbie Jo
Patrick has a heart of gold. He is extremely considerate, kind and caring. He is the biggest goofball that I have ever known. Patrick is very charismatic and gets along with everyone that he meets. He loves to tinker with electronics as well as building things such as a home brew system. Patrick is an amazing cook, and enjoys using every pan, plate and utensil in the kitchen to create a meal! He is easygoing, and when he takes a wrong turn when driving says, “It is an adventure.” He is hardworking and takes pride in what he does. Patrick has had a variety of professions over the years from doing recoveries for organ and tissue donation to working in a brewery as a brew master. Family is very important to him as he makes sure to see his sisters and parents a couple of times a year and talks with them weekly. His friends and family mean the world to him. Patrick doesn’t judge and believes in giving others the benefit of the doubt. He has a positivity that brightens up every room that he walks in to. He is an amazing listener and support to others. Patrick is an incredible father. He is patient, takes time to connect and understand Asher and is always being silly and playing with him.

Meet Asher
Asher is a three-year-old who is obsessed with trash trucks, we take him every “Trash Day” to the local recycling center just to watch the trucks. He’s opinionated, loves playing outside in the dirt, building random things, and playing at the local playgrounds. He is adventurous and curious, always learning. With his magnetic personality and contagious laugh he quickly makes friends.
We promise we will be open & honest with our children regarding all aspects of life. It is important to us that they understand that they are a priority in their own lives thus instilling confidence and self-awareness. We want to help teach them that even through the hardest of times, they will be able to navigate through with their own strength and the support of others. We truly believe that you can do whatever you put your mind to, and want our children to know that we support their feelings and decisions.
Our Home in California
The Irvine community continues to be ranked among the safest places to live in the United States, as well as boosting high quality school system. Its eclectic mix of Asian, Indian, and European population creates a melting pot of unique cultures and experiences. Our home is nestled amongst a classic suburb of Irvine with local lakes (with geese, HONK!!!) local shops, parks, and pools. Our spacious home has high vaulted ceilings and with Bobbie Jo’s shabby chic design has created inviting atmospheres and a loving charm.
It Takes a Village
Bobbie Jo comes from a big Midwest family with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. She is very close with her parents and brothers, FaceTiming with them several times a week and visiting them as often as we can. When we do go back to the farm to visit, Asher is so excited as he gets to run all over and see so many things that he may not always see living in a city.
Patrick comes from a small, tight knit Colorado family. Growing up in small town Patrick and his two sisters relied on each other for laughter, entertainment, and support. Due to being the youngest of the three kids, Patrick would often times be awarded the role of “dog” while we played Little House on the Prairie. The kids still get together once a year for sibling weekend where we all pick a place a meet up for a weekend of fun and excitement. Patrick’s parents instilled in him the importance of hard work, family, and making sure not to take life too seriously. We all enjoy camping, fishing, and hiking together and we try to meet up once a year to reconnect over our Mom’s famous bowl of clam chowder.
Favorite Traditions
- Pancakes/waffles with ice cream on Christmas Eve. This was one tradition that we had in common before we met each other.
- Sibling weekend – Instead of Christmas gifts for each we choose a city in the USA to meet up in and go on adventures throughout the city.
- We always give each other a gag gift for Christmas, the goofier the better
- Double Thanksgivings. Patrick’s mom was a nurse and would work on Thanksgiving so she would make Thanksgiving on Wednesday and the following day we would go to a friend’s gathering to double dip.
- Every year we go apple picking during the fall. Apple Cider, petting zoo, and tasty BBQ with pie.
Thoughts on Parenting
We look at parenting as a two way street that as the child continues to learn and grow so do the parents. Our lives together will be full of opportunities to learn from one another and explore new, unique experiences. We hope that our child has a passion for learning and exploring their environment without the fear of failure. We want them to make mistakes and realize that it’s an important part of growing up. We want to pass on to them that family is the most important thing, always having that support group rooting for you and loving you no matter what is a powerful thing.
One Last Thank You
Thank you for taking time look through our profile. We are ecstatic to grow our family and provide a warm, caring home to your child. We will love your child and can't wait to watch the love between Asher and his sibling grow and expand into their futures together. We hope that by sharing our story and learning about us, you were able to see how much your child would mean to us.
