Hi There! We are Sanjay and Reena from sunny Southern California. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!

We love our life together and know that having the opportunity to raise a child and share our love with them would be the most incredible gift we could give. Although infertility has been difficult, it led us to adoption which we absolutely know is the right path and that this child will be cared for unconditionally. We know you are putting the needs of your child above your heart. We are so grateful to you for considering us and are excited to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

Destiny played a part in how we first met. Sanjay’s friend and my sister introduced us in 2010. At the time, we lived in two different states: I was in school in North Carolina and Sanjay was working in California. We spoke over the phone a couple of times but didn’t end up meeting in person and stopped communication given our physical distance. Years went by and in 2015, we both happened to be in New York City. I liked Sanjay’s post on Facebook. Sanjay messaged me, and we began texting nonstop. We went out to dinner and sparks flew. We had a great time cracking jokes and getting to know each other, even though the evening ended with me tripping and falling down subway stairs! Sanjay took care of me, bringing me some ice and Advil, and I knew he was the one. Funny first date!

We fell in love and on our 1-year anniversary, Sanjay proposed to me at Griffith Observatory in Hollywood. After we watched a show at the planetarium, he had friends standing in the hills with a 200-foot-long banner that said: “Reena, will you marry me?” I said yes! We got married outdoors in Southern California surrounded by our friends and families.

Along with our puppy Jules, we have a lovely home close to friends and family in a beautiful beach suburb of Los Angeles, California. We live near exceptional schools, museums, hiking trails, parks as well as the beach. Our home is a secure and safe place. We have a happy healthy relationship with each other and have stable jobs that provide us security. We are excited to bring a child into our family through the gift of adoption!

I grew up near Los Angeles, CA to parents who have now been married for 48 years. My parents were both teachers, my mother taught preschool and my father taught engineering at the local community college. Ever since I was a toddler I’ve been interested in technology, taking apart computers and other gadgets to understand how they work. My dad would sit with me for hours while we fixed these gadgets together. I can see myself doing the same with my future child and teaching them how to learn in a fun way. I went to college to study Computer Science and after graduating I followed this passion and started working for a tech company where I have now been for the past 16 years. I love my job, and as a Partner at my firm I’m fortunate to have a flexible schedule that allows me to work from home, which will be helpful once we bring a new baby home.

Every day I am thankful that I met Sanjay. I was immediately won over by his warm smile and laid-back personality which makes everyone feel at ease. Many people seek out Sanjay as a mentor. He rarely preaches - just listens and guides. He is smart and ambitious and loves what he does for work yet works just as hard at home by taking care of our relationship, our dog Jules, and our house. He is incredibly loving, and I’ll often find him on the ground playing with Jules, teaching her a new trick, and showering her in affection.

I imagine him doing the same and more with our future child. He is hilarious and often makes me laugh like no one else can. All of these amazing parts of his personality make me realize how lucky I am to spend my life with him, and I know he will make an amazing father.

I grew up in Texas to loving parents who have now been married for 50 years. Growing up my home was always full of music playing on the speakers and delicious smells coming from the kitchen. Both of my parents are excellent cooks and to this day nothing beats their food! I can’t wait to make amazing meals for our future child and teach them recipes my parents taught me. My parents were always there for me and my siblings and I look forward to doing the same with our future child.

Due to my passion for helping people and interest in medicine I became a physician assistant (PA). I love what I do for work as it allows me to be nurturing, help improve pain, and give people their function back. I work for one of the top hospitals in the country and my job is parent friendly and flexible. I’m lucky to be able to work from home several days a week and can adjust my schedule as needed, so our plans for childcare won’t be a problem!

Reena is my best friend. She’s the most fun person I know and can have me in stitches even when just sitting at home on the couch. Her ability to light up a room, her positivity, and her vivaciousness are qualities I adore. I wanted a partner who could do things better than me and I found that in her. She’s extremely creative and has done an amazing job decorating our home and filling the walls with her beautiful paintings. She’s caring and selfless and always puts me and our dog Jules ahead of her own needs. Watching her care for her nieces and nephews, it’s clear she has a unique way with kids and is known as their favorite aunt. When I have a stressful day at work, she’s a great listener and provides me with some grounding advice. She will be an amazing mother to our future child!

We are so lucky to live in a beautiful beach suburb of Los Angeles, California. We recently put a lot of work into renovating our 5-bedroom home and are so happy with how it turned out! Our diverse neighborhood is full of children playing outside, families walking their dogs, and friendly conversation with neighbors. Our school district is rated very highly, and the schools are within walking distance. The beach is also a short walk from our home and we often pack a picnic to eat at the park while watching the sunset over the ocean. There are many parks and easy beautiful hikes nearby that are family friendly. Disneyland, Universal Studios, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter are all a short drive from our home as well!

Jules is our fluffy Australian Shepherd dog that has a lot of personality! She is sweet, cuddly, and full of energy. She is amazing with our nieces, nephews, and friend’s kids. They usually boss her around and take her on walks around the house with her leash or teach her tricks. She loves it! As we write this letter Jules is pulling all her toys out of her basket trying to find the best one to nap with. Her favorite thing to do is go on long walks in our neighborhood, play fetch, or go for a car ride with the windows down feeling the ocean breeze. She also loves puppy play dates, so we often have our friends bring their dogs over and let them run around and play together or take them all to the nearby parks. Jules will make a great furry companion to our future child!

Reena’s family. I have 5 goofy adorable nieces and nephews. My older sister is a pediatrician and lives nearby with her family. We often meet up with them to go on hikes with the nieces, go swimming in their backyard, and play board games. My parents and brother and his family live in Dallas and we see them several times a year. My younger sister lives in Calgary, Canada with her family. We meet up with my entire family in Texas every year for a big Thanksgiving and Christmas celebration. I have a large extended family with 17 cousins! We keep in touch regularly by sending photos, facetiming, and meeting up often.

Sanjay’s family. My parents are also a short drive away and we love eating with them and playing cards. I usually win despite how hard Reena tries to beat me! My sister and her husband live in San Francisco and we see them several times a year for family gatherings.
We have a great group of close friends, many of whom also have children and we often meet with them at local parks or at our homes. We believe it is so important to have a strong community that can lean on each other for support as this is what brings us the most joy in life.
