Hi! We are Pakk & Will from Los Angeles, California. It has always been our dream to become dads someday. From the beginning of our 8-year relationship, we made it part of our life plan to raise a child together. Without any doubt at all, we knew adoption would be the way we start a family.

You are making a very important and courageous decision. If chosen, we promise you this: we will protect and nurture your child in a home that is full of love, understanding and respect, giving them the brightest possible future. Our story began 8 years ago by chance on a dating site. Though we knew immediately we had something special, the fact that we were over 2000 miles apart presented some logistical challenges. Will was living in Toronto, Canada, while Pakk was in Los Angeles, California. Throughout our courtship, we strengthened our bond by consistently speaking, texting and visiting each other. Despite the distance, we fell in love. On a rainy summer day, Pakk proposed to Will on a bench in their favorite park in Toronto. Ever the creative, Pakk made a 70-page storybook recounting our special memories together. The book ended with Pakk’s proposal. On September 1, 2016, we got married in an intimate ceremony with our closest family and friends. This date is special because this is the same wedding anniversary as Will’s beloved Grandparents who had 50 years of happy marriage.

We have made Los Angeles, California our loving home together, with our mini goldendoodle, Daisy.

We enjoy cooking at home, trying new restaurants, traveling, hanging out with our friends, playing board games, hiking, listening to music, watching movies and the latest binge-worthy TV show. One of our favorite traditions is traveling back to Canada, especially during Christmas.

Family is very important to us, and we love making memories with them. When we become dads, we plan to continue these activities and traditions, and build a close-knit extended family.

I was born in Hong Kong and lived there for most of my childhood. I grew up with my older brother in a blue-collar family.

When I was 13, my family relocated to Upstate New York. It was tough adjusting to a new school, new language and new culture at first. In fact, I never felt completely comfortable in my own skin until I went to Union College (Schenectady, NY) where I majored in Biology and minored in Music. It was being away at college that I was able to find myself. But it was also there that I had to cope with losing my dad. My perspective on life shifted. While my parents had always wanted me to become a doctor, I decided that it was far more important for me to live a life for myself and pursue my own dream. So, after I finished my undergraduate degree and two graduate degrees, I decided to enroll at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), where I studied film scoring and composition.

In 2005, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a composer for film and television. It’s tough to break into Hollywood, but through hard work and perseverance, I have made a career for myself. While my job can be demanding at times, I do value being able to physically be at home when I work. With our future child, I will ensure that I nurture their curiosity, encourage them to explore different interests, and support the pursuit of their passions.

Pakk is the most thoughtful, kind, and hard-working person I know. Everyone who meets him loves being around his bright spirit immediately.

One of the things I love most about Pakk is how much he makes me laugh on a regular basis. I love living life with him and how we manage to have fun no matter what we are doing. I cherish our heartfelt and supportive conversations, and we constantly say how grateful we are that we are such a good team together in life. I deeply appreciate that Pakk is an excellent provider and how attentive he is to our dog Daisy. For as long as I’ve known Pakk he has expressed how much he wants to be a father, and it’s because of all these qualities that I know he will be a wonderful parent.

I grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, a small city surrounded by charming wineries, with short drives to Toronto and Niagara Falls.

Some of my favorite childhood memories are the holidays spent together with my close extended family and this made me appreciate the importance of family from an early age. It’s my dream to provide similar experiences for my future child. I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing from Brock University and afterwards I moved to Toronto where I found my passion for video production, having worked for large brands and in television. I’m currently the Director of Social Media & YouTube at an online media agency. Work-life balance is a priority for me, and I have the mindset that family obligations and self-care are just as important as work.

I’m a big foodie who loves to cook and try new restaurants, spend time with family and friends, travel, hike, play boardgames, watch movies, and binge the latest hit tv show.

With my future child, I’m looking forward to providing a loving and supportive home where they can grow to be their authentic self. I’m excited to cheer them on at whatever sports and activities interest them, have board game and movie nights together, create family traditions such as Christmas back in Canada, travel and explore different parts of the world together, and spend time outdoors at the various parks and venues that both California and Canada have to offer.

I felt love for the first time in my life when I met will and he continues to make me feel loved every single day. His quick wit livens up every room he enters.

His positive outlook on life is contagious. What I value about Will the most is his ability to listen and give advice, which has guided me through some of the most difficult personal and professional situations. This makes him a great husband to me, a wonderful son to his parents, a caring friend to many, and an all-around genuine person to whoever he meets. On top of that, he believed in me before I believed in myself. I have no doubt that he will raise our future child to be a kind, caring and confident person. Will is going to be a fantastic father.

We love our family-friendly neighborhood, Lake Balboa, located in sunny Los Angeles, California. We live in a 4-bedroom single family home on a tree-lined street with a beautiful backyard that's perfect for entertaining guests and playtime with a child. We are blessed to live within walking distance of a large park that features a wonderful playground and stunning lake which contains ducks and swans. We love to walk our dog Daisy there and are excited to go for walks with our future child there too. One of our favorite things to do in our neighborhood is enjoying brunch or dinner on a patio at one of the many excellent restaurants. Sharing this love of food is something we look forward to doing with our future child. There are also several options for good schools in our district for a child to get a great education.

Our dog Daisy is our 4-year-old mini golden doodle. Daisy is the sweetest and most gentle dog. She is very friendly with every person she meets, always wanting to say hi. The children of our friends and family often ask us to bring Daisy when we visit, and they love playing and cuddling with her. Daisy’s favorite activities include playing fetch, watching movies on the couch with us, and going for walks.

We both value family and friends. Spending quality time with our loved ones is what we live for. Pakk’s family lives nearby in Los Angeles. Pakk’s brother, Paklun, sister-in-law, Tracy, and their children Cyrus (10) and Taryn (5), live in San Gabriel; and Pakk’s mom, Ming, lives in Monterey Park. They are all within a 30-min drive from where we live. One of our favorite family traditions is celebrating Chinese New Year together by sharing delicious Chinese food and playing card games with Cyrus and Taryn.

Will’s parents Tom and Sue, and his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Bre, and their daughter Isla (2) all live in the Greater Toronto Area. We love to visit them at least twice a year, and they enjoy visiting us in sunny California as well. Though they may live far away, we facetime with them once a week to catch up with each other. One of our favorite traditions is staying with Tom and Sue for Christmas. We would help Sue make fresh pasta, watch many Christmas movies, eat delicious food, and go on winter walks. It’s also the best time to catch up with Will’s extended family, including a grandma, 2 uncles, an aunt, 3 cousins and their 4 kids.

We also love spending time with our friends, watching movies, playing board games, or eating delicious meals together. Some of our favorite traditions with friends are going pumpkin picking in a nearby pumpkin patch, dressing up for Halloween and handing out candies to trick-or-treaters and exploring new restaurants in the city.

We promise to love and nurture your child. We promise to be fully invested in whatever brings them joy, whether it is sports, academics, music, arts or anything at all. We promise to advocate for them and to give them all the tools they need to thrive. We will be there to cheer for their triumphs, to pick them up when they fall, and love them unconditionally no matter what.
